What kind of price are we taking? 1965 5c SMS

I bought a 1965 SMS set off ebay unopened and i have no idea why lol. I guess i was trying to get lucky and pull an ultra cameo kennedy (highly doubt i was gonna) or it was cause no one was bidding and it was cheap image It came in today and every coin was junk accept for the Nickel. The Nickel not only has a DDO (date is doubled) it also has to die cracks? (raised pieces of metal). One piece is small and under jeffersons neck and the other has decent size running in the fields to the left of his bust. The coin IMO should go MS-64 if i get a gift MS-65. Have any of you seen a coin like this? I can take pics but my camera is terrible at close ups image

BTW, these sets were not sealed by the mint.

  • The set came in a flat pack in cello in a white envelope. I guess the best thing to do is invest $18 into the coin get it slabbed and attributed and pray it sells for more lol.

Whomever checked the coins for winners, didn't find any, and then licked the flap.

  • They were produced in San Fransico Assay Office (Mint)....so didn't they package them...??

    Does my memory fail me?

Didn't you post a picture of a 1965 SMS that was addressed by the mint and sealed?

If they weren't obviously sealed by the mint then they weren't sealed by the mint.

    Duh!!!! McFly!!!!

They were shipped from the mint unsealed, there are two ways they get sealed... 1) Stored in a humid environment. 2) SLURP!!!

Forgot about those. 3) If someone bought a single set from the mint, the shipping label was slapped on it and the set was shipped sealed.

For 9 bux i really cant complain image I got a nice DDO coin to so im happy. I checked the coin again and its doesnt have a die crack. Im so use to looking at proof coins that the area looked like extra metal was just the normal design of the coin but its not in super detail like a proof. Jumped the gun a bit on that one but its still a nice coin. Why cant i find something i like to collect with an error like that image Oh and i def wont be buying any SMS sets, ill be sticking to the proofs like i normally do image
