    dizzyfox,

this is a truly sad post. are you an anaconda friend or employee?
maybe an alternate ID one of you use to post this?

i might be a cranky sob, but at least i don't go around posting
    this stuff.

I'm sorry you are saddened by this post. I'm simply an ARC customer who is extremely happy with their service and coins, not to mention their eye-candy website. But if they would like to make me an employee, I'd be happy to learn under their expert tutelage.image

I see nothing wrong with a satisfied customer giving a third party endorsement to a dealer with who he has had good dealings. Isn't that part of what a hobby message board should do - screen out the garbage and identify the most legitimate suppliers?

Nothing wrong with a heads up from a happy coustomer.
Most of you beg for names about the bad ones, so why are the good ones to
be treated differently. Sharks just looking for blood, the thrill of the kill.

Don't be such a poor sport.
  • I think it's every bit as fitting to post good experiences with a dealer as it is to out the bad apples in the business. Many of us like to know the good people to deal with as well as the bad ones to avoid.

dizzy, i do not want your private messages explaining why you
feel the need to promote the same dealer on a weekly basis.

    please come again.

feel free to buy from you know who.

  • Oh well, Let's make it a tag team event. While Dizzy is resting I'll jump in and say that Anaconda has some of the most awesome coins available on the market today.

I met Anaconda at the Summer ANA. All I have to say is the dealers there are some of the nicest people I have met in the hobby.
They went out of their way to talk coins and showed me some of the most beautiful and rare coins I have ever seen. Now could I afford any of these gems, no. However, they still spent their time educating me and allowing me to hold and appreciate their coins. I would definitly buy from them if I saw something In the area and grade that I collect.
  • Dizzy..did you find any polyps when you were up there?..LOL...Just kidding..I really love Anaconda's coins...Even though I have not bought from him, I will most certainly do it in the future...

I was fortunate enough to purchase one coin from Brandon. Everything went smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I can highly recommend Evan Gale of Aspen Park Rare Coin Inc and he's on top of my list as a dealer with integrity.

Who will also treat you with common courtesy, respect, and give you the time of day even if your not buying.

Evan has a great eye, and his coins are better in hand then his pics.

He's a real dealer, and owns all his inventory coins... not a consignment wannabe, hence he won't buy anything that he doesn't personally like.

Dizzy he's got a bunch of colorful commems that should tickle your fancy, so check his site out.

  • It's been close to 4 years since I bought something from Adrian. He was fun talking to on the phone. He didn't know I was on the boards here. And I didn't tell him until the coin arrived and I thanked him via pm. It was fun. I'll buy again.

I have dealt with Brandon and he is top notch. Not only buying from him, but selling to him also. It seemed to me, I was dealing with someone I`d known a long time.

If you're just trying to flip coins, then you're right, Anaconda isn't for you. But if you're a collector that loves one-in-a-million eye-appealing coins, and you're more likely to hold a coin for years and appreciate its beauty often, then Anaconda is definitely for you. And of course, one-in-a-million eye-appealing coins generally cost A LOT more than sheet. Indeed, some coins are so unique that they truly are one-of-a-kind, and so whomever is lucky enough to own them gets to determine what they're worth. That's the perk of owning the best.

I have bought several Annaconda coins, and realized a profit on all that
I sold, after I decided to move on from tnem.

That's because high quality and superb eye-appeal will go nowhere but up IMO.

Yes, even though being nice and professional is a good thing, the bottom line is getting repeated good value for your dollar (ie not buried as many retailer are want to do whether intentional or not).

To me, the real measure of a dealer is giving me fair value or excess value for my dollar. It's funny that we don't see more threads from customers of top retailers proclaiming how much money they made taking their picks and advice over the years. But in hindsight this must mean very little to most collectors since it is the last thing ever mentioned, if even at all.

And of course, one-in-a-million eye-appealing coins generally cost A LOT more than sheet. Indeed, some coins are so unique that they truly are one-of-a-kind, and so whomever is lucky enough to own them gets to determine what they're worth. That's the perk of owning the best.

The market ultimately determines what those coins are worth, not the seller. While he can pick a price for his preized coin or his home, it's the potential buyers that bid for that item who determine the selling price. Contursi's SP66 1794 dollar is not worth $10 MILL because that's the value he places on it. On the flip side I may value a coin at $5K and put it up for auction. It if fetches $3K or $10K that's what it's worth on that day, not my $5K estimate. This applies to dreck as well as eye-appealing 1-in-a-million coins.
