Yes, that bites...hard...So I'd bite harder. Isn't tampering with mail a federal crime..ie...a felony? Hands down, one of the coolest gadgets I've seen in quite some time. I hope you get it back...L

My workplace has a policy of no personal mail accepted (USPS, Fedx etc.) and I think it is a good policy, they don't want to have any

It's a simple thing to change for the better.
When bad goes to worse, it just sickens me to my soul.

That the person is confronted with a video tape in the act of theft is proof. That they would deny the truth when faced with it is disheartening.
I'm hopeful the item is returned and that the perpetrator might understand what "plea bargain" means.

I am sorry about your loss .

I hope you can get it returned to you. What interested would this person have in this bank?

Just to sell it for $5 for drug money. The same reason crack heads steal $40K cars and sell them to chop shops for $500.

Did this person know a numismatic item was going to be in the package?

Sorry to hear about the theft. The denial is kind of bizarre.

Could we all chip in maybe and take out an ad in the paper? Alert the public. Offer a reward.

I'm guessing this hoser was not discovered in the act for a while after he pocketed the piece.

He could have hocked it, or showed it to someone in the hope of getting something to smoke, shoot or snort.

Here's a suggestion for getting out the word to pawn shops and others about the missing bank. When formal charges are filed against the employee accused stealing the item, contact your local news media and give them copies of the police report or alert them to the court filing. Offer the news media the high quality photos of the bank, and see if your company's security department will release copies of the surveillance video tape to the news media. The resulting news coverage may result in the return of the item if a local pawn shop or someone else took it in and they see/hear about it on the news.
