Interested in the Early Years of the Mint? I just finished an awesome book!
For those of you interested in the early years of the Mint, I just finished an awesome book.
The title is" Henry Voigt and Others Involved with America's Early Coinage written by Karl Moulton.
Henry Voigt was the first Coiner at the Mint.
Karl debuted his book at the ANA in Milwaukee. Unfortunately I could not attend the ANA. I just received the book late last week. I devoured it quickly. ...and I will be reading and re-reading it many more times.
SOME of the Chapter titles are:
Seeking Work at the New Mint
Engravers of the Early American Coinage
The First Federal Issues
Beginnings of National Coinage
Henry Voigt's 1793 Daily Ledger
America's First Coin Dealer
The First United States Quarters
Voigt, Reich and Eckfeldt
This book is a GREAT READ!
I just wanted to share.
Regards,
Ed R.
