Is 2 months+ excessive for a sub to pop...

Just curious if anyone has experienced a greater than two month wait for a submission to be graded and posted? What's the longest interval of time PSA received and posted your grades? I guess my impatience has finally reached it's breaking point.

I dropped my cards off at PSA headquarters on June 29th and still nothing. I live near their headquarters and once a month you can drop stuff off in person. I called customer service today and they said they are still working off June specials but that mine would likely be done this week...lol.

I called today to find out about my 7/10 sub. I had a pretty unpleasant experience with the rep I spoke with.

Now I can't help but wonder if I'm going to be "rewarded" for such an exchange when I'm eventually graded.

I understand how everyone can be frustrated. I guess I just don't feel that way.
My feeling is, if I had wanted them faster, I would have paid extra.

Too much spam Steve? I find that AOL does a fantastic job of filtering out the spam emails.

Mine is 7/14 and still waiting. I gave up looking anymore. I figure they'll email me eventually. Last one took about exactly 3 months so I may still have a month to wait.

I gotta go along with footballcardstore. I'm still waiting on a submission special from 7/7 - and a I check it every day. But, if I had wanted it faster - I would have paid more for it.

In the grand scheme of things - not a big deal.

I'm with Jeremy as well. That is a chance of "varies with demand".
I submit and forget. Eventually they come back home and I have had them at the front door with my being aware.
As long as these are back by May...........

i am still waiting on a 6/30 check in, had 4 all check in on 6/.28 and 6/30
got 3 back
waitning on the 4th

no rhyme or reason which orders go in and out 1st...
that is my biggesy complaint, i can deal with the length of time but the randomness stinks

Those 78s always get me. I'm sure they look 9 except for a bit of wrinkle.

I dont' mind waiting for my orders to pop. The only thing that gets me is that some orders logged in after pop before mine. Maybe this is do to the makeup of the order, ie vintage or modern, so I can still understand that. I'll just keep check my email.

My normal submissions have all been real good, the only slow submissions I have had have been the monthly specials and thats kinda expected since I am getting a savings on it.

I've discussed how they derive at doing certain invoices logged in after others etc etc with a few
other board members and they all seem to agree with me when I say that if you put a big
mix of stuff in, it will sit for a while. If you send in all one year or maybe 2 years, your stuff
seems to get graded much faster. I've noticed this several times, in fact.

What do you all think?

I have only sent in 1968 Baseball to PSA. The first $5 special was done after others entered later than mine. Now I have TWO subs of '68 baseball only from 7-6 and 7-7. I did the correct packaging, put the numbers on the back, and several entered after it are already done.

I'm not sure it's always the case as two or three doesn't prove a trend.

It makes sense and I've also noticed it happening before, just maybe not with the June special. My 7/6 sub is all from 1960 and only 12 (maybe 15, so long ago that I forget) cards--mostly commons, with a few minor stars. On Friday, PSA will have logged-in the sub 11 weeks ago.
The June special may go against the norm when it comes to how and when subs get graded. They may offer this type of special again, but I would be surprised to see it offered around the same time as the Nationals again (especially if they're searching for graders)

I was stupid and sent in some '61 Topps panels with my submission. Sure enough, checked in 7/10 and haven't heard anything whatsoever.

So I'd guess your supposition about not mixing your stuff is right.

The "one year per submission" rule doesn't apply here. I carved up one huge order into 6 separate orders, thinking I'd get them back faster. Ha! I still have yet to receive 3 orders. They were logged in late June and the first one popped on 8/30.

The notion that putting all cards from the same year only on your sub willl get it graded earlier is just fantasy. No truth to it. My 1962 Topps sub of 184 cards was logged in on July 9 and still no grades as of today. All cards were the same year.

I have a 335 card sub and a 347 card sub sitting at PSA right now. both logged in 9/10. I fully expect they will take 2+ months to grade, but for these two subs, I'm ok with that. I retired all my registry sets except for 4 now so I have no vested interest in these getting done sooner rather than later. Although, having over $3k tied up in a submission is a bit expensive when you consider the time value of money.

It actually looks like they are doing small orders first, and larger orders later. Are there many 20 card or less orders waiting for grades?

Yup...me. 12 - 15 cards from 1960. Sub logged in on 7/6. Nothing odd-ball, mostly commons with a couple minor stars.

I called last week and they told me my 45 days (July 11) for the June special would be today. I got nothing.

I also had a 5 day special that was due today. I got nothing.

Of course if I call again they will just say specials are not guaranteed.

Just got my submission posted. PSA received on July2, grades posted Sept. 21. They were 50 1960 Topps baseball. All were between 6-8's. Can't complain with the grades except the hard to get #451 Curt Simmons which I really thought was a 7 or 8. It got a 5! Oh well.

I think you can almost change the title of this thread to 'Three months'. Not that there's anything wrong with this as long as the grades are accurate.
