Technique for Morgan pics?

I'm trying to take some pics of some Morgans, and I'm having trouble with lighting. I'm used to taking pics of dimes, which I find a lot easier. My Morgan pics are turning out very uneven in illumination. I'd appreciate some tips from some of the Morgan guys, such as how many lights, placement of lights, distance of camera from the coin, etc.
Thanks.
Thanks.

In this pic I'm using a wood shim to raise the base of the coin. The pic below shows my generic setup. The wood shim is actually my
grandfathers home made 4" wood and brass calipers.

How many do you find optimal and at what positions?
PL morgans love less light and a little more angle to capture the strike and luster.
Color morgans love a little more light and usually diffused to 2 sides, if a truly "dark" or solid rainbow...use 3 lights put at 2,6 and 10
VAM shots are dependant on if you are trying to capture doubling...ie doubling you want 2 lights (generally for date I put 2 lights at 4 and 8 with the camera dead on center, die clashes you will tend to use the same lighting, more diffused and the coin up a couple of degrees to show the shadowing.
Breaks and gouges I generally go 12 and 6 with the camera dead on center and adjust the coin to show the PUP.
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
