First Pop - First Evidence of Trimming

I received my first grades today and did OK, mostly 7's and 8's...was hoping for better, but not a horrible start. I guess I can use them as a basis for determining future grades.
The one annoying part was receiving an Evidence of Trimming on a nice 1956 Eddie Mathews I submitted. I bought on ebay with the hopes of getting a nice grade to add to my collection, but instead got the dreaded Not Holdered. I went back and looked at the eBay listing I won and it does state on the bottom "Ungraded cards are not guaranteed to grade by third party grading companies due to alterations of any kind. All cards are guaranteed authentic or your money back in full." Should have read everything before. Also, his feedback is private, which I never knew you could do, so I couldn't read if there were other instances of this on his cards. All in all, I guess I got a little zealous and learned a lesson, at least not a particularly expensive one, about what to look for on these eBay ads. Now my question...should I stick this cards in my raw 1956 set I'm putting together (it's not the greatest looking set, due to funds, but it's nice enough), do I try to resell on ebay with a notation about the Evidence of Trimming and try to recoup a few bucks, or is the card pretty much worthless and I should stick it in my son's bike spokes?
Also, received one card that received an 8ST. I know there were some gum stains on the front, so that's not shocking. How does that effect the price of the card...how much below the 8 price does it drop?
Thanks in advance!

According to PSA it will drop by 2 grades if used in the set registry.

That is up to you, but if you are building a lower grade set I would put it in the set and not worry about it.
What is his ID? Contrary to popular belief you can read Private Feedback members feedback. It just takes some legwork.

<< <i>You say his feedback is private?? If he is selling he is in violation of Ebay rules. You can have private feedback, but you cannot sell with it Private.

It was bubblegumsportscards. They have a pretty high feedback, but 3 negs in one month seems strange for them.
Thanks for everyone's help/advice.
In the past 30 days they have sold 100 items and recieved 95 positive feedback and 3 negs. That is not a real bad percentage if all three negs cam from the same buyer. Would take a while though to sort out because all the listings were private as well.
