I'm pretty sure that there are no coin dealers there, but I know there are pawn shops. Maybe you'll get lucky
    I collect circulated U.S. silver
  • I just got back from Duck, which is the same area. 3rd time there. I haven't even seen a pawn shop...didn't think to actually look...nor a coin shop. BUT! I did go to a bank there and got 16 loose Kennedy's. Two were 40%. Best I did. Are you driving and from where? Check pb and you might find a auction along the way or even one rightthere on the Outer Banks.

I know there are a some in Virginia each area if you want to go that far. If you got the time you could take the Currituck ferry and make a day of it. This store does not have coins but it is a cool gift shopLINK

Don't forget to go to Kiity Hawk Kites and take hang gliding lessons on Jockey's Ridge. You won't be going off a cliff but you do get some air time running down the side of the Ridge. It is very cool! It's a good idea to make reservations.

I'd be kinda surprised if there was a coin dealer out there.

I went to the coin show in Greenville last Saturday and they had a bit of trouble assembling a dozen dealers for that show.

I'm driving from Cumberland Maryland, it takes about 7 hours, we've been going to the Outter Banks for 10 years now.

While I love the ocean I'm not a sit in the sun, on the beach kind of person so I usually go off exploring, looking for antiques, coins, nice & resturants.....

Stopping along the way is out of the question, too many folks (group of 20) that do not enjoy the same things....

  • Best I can find is an Art Gallery that has some modern coins and 3 large cents, and pawn shops that have modern silver and gold coins........
