I've used a razor knife and a metal ruler, flipped over so that the metal is facing the card. Most of the metal rulers i've seen have cork on the bottom so it raises the ruler up off the card surface...giving you every opportunity to muck up a good cut. I've submitted the 69 MLBPA stamps as well as some hostess cards and have always gotten good results.
Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Tom Seaver, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock player collector
I have used a paper cutter in the past and the results were very good. First I usually use the paper cutter to cut the card down to about 1/2 inch of all four sides of the card. This makes it a little easier when I do the final cut. Good Luck, Bob

should you leave the entire black perforated border showing, or simply cut on the perforation?

<< <i>Hi- I have a 71-72 Dell football set and am wondering how to cut them so they grade decently! Any advice is appreciated! Paul >>
25 of the 48 players in this set are Hall of Famers! Including ROOKIES of Terry Bradshaw and Willie Lanier. All of these will certainly be desirable in the Master Sets in the future. Although nice cuts exist, it is very difficult to cut clean. Also, Several cards are "on the fold" in the magazine. Unitas, Plunkett and Lamonica are virtually impossible without the crease from the fold. Anything over PSA 3 on these is RARE. Also very tough without the fold(crease) are Nobis, Jurgensen, Carr, Butkus, Gabriel and Abramowicz. Challanging set.
