OH MY GOSH!!! READ THIS!!! MY HUGE FIND AT TARGET FOR A & G....

Okay...I'm still crapping my pants and shaking because of this. Some of you know that I have had some big finds in the A & G Target blaster boxes. Today, my wife and I go to Target and I told her that we need to go to the card section first otherwise I would be really anxious the whole time. So we did and she found a blaster box hiding in the back. We got it and several hours later (after dinner and a nap) we busted it open. I'm at the last pack and it hasn't yielded anything spectacular. But, I'm convinced something will happen since my wife has the midas touch. I break open the pack and I see that there is a game used, but I don't look at it at first. Then I get to it and my jaw drops. I want you all to know that EVERY SINGLE AWESOME CARD I've ever pulled has been something my wife has gotten me. Below is what was in there....

man-my wife is the same exact with way with cards, she can outfish me too!i dont know how they do it,i think its a conspiracy myself! very sweet pull,i cant get anybody but dudzz lol, im still trying to get the 4 negro league players on wooden cards if they made em, i suppose they made wooden for everyone?

Every pull I've made in the last 3 months (which ironically has been pretty frequently), my g/f has opened the pack.

I started jumping up and down like a little kid and my wife freaked out. She's like, "What the he** are you doing?!" The cats got really scared too. I couldn't help it. I mean, I found that Greg Louganis Red Ink Auto about a month ago in a blaster. And I know that realized priceing on the mantle is not as much as that one, but I gotta be honest. I'd take this card any day over the Louganis. I'm just really not that into swimming. But, I just got done telling her the other day that I was waiting on the big pull. She asked what I meant and I told her that everyone I know has pulled something big or a huge star. Like you know, a Ruth, or a Cobb, or a Mantle for instance.
So, we were both pretty excited over it. We even called our parents, lol, to let them know. They were all asleep and were like, what? It's my first Mantle Memorabilia so, I don't think it's going to be leaving me any time soon. She even said that she doesn't want it leaving the house. LOL.

I'm with you on the Mantle... if I'd pulled that, I'd keep it too. I've been hoping to pull some rare Chien Ming Wang stuff for that reason. If I pulled a Bruce Lee or Mantle relic, I'd never sell. But if I pulled C.M.W.'s auto or uni I'd have it on eBay and be drunk off the profits within a week!

I think A&G will be one of the premiere sets to own, its going down the same path as heritage. That Mantle will only appreciate as time goes on. Not only a great
card, but a great looking card! Is anyone doing the relic set? I think there are a few.

I have pulled plenty of relics , nothing like that though !

I pulled a nice Blue Border Mantle Refractor from the 2007 Topps Chrome though and I was real happy just to have that, which is nothing compared to that monster !

Down to my last 3 relics (OK, technically 4).

I've picked up all the relics except the biggest ones. I need Shorin, Mantle and Bruce Lee. Technically I guess I need a Washington or 3 but with ebay cancelling the auction each time it's getting harder and harder to stay interested in that card.

Great pull!!!!!!!!! What are these blaster boxes everyone talks about? Is that just a new way of saying wax box? How much is the blaster box of A&G at Target?

Blaster boxes are boxes that usually say on them 7 packs plus 1. They are in the card section at Target and go for $19.99. Don't buy retail packs because they are usually searched. Your best bet is always going to be on the wrapped blaster boxes.
I would consider hobby boxes now the new wax boxes. But, that's just me. I'm pretty sure that this is how it breaks down...

Hobby Boxes- 24 packs, 2 relics (auto or game used), and a top loader
Retail boxes-24 packs
Blaster boxes-8 packs

Although you are pretty much guaranteed relic's in the hobby boxes I have no intention of buying another one. All my great pulls have come from the Blasters and I've really gotten nothing from the hobbies or the retail. Plus, if you're on a budget, blasters are nice because you can pull something good for only $20.

I picked up three blasters based on the nice pulls I've been seeing lately and I pulled an auto of Nick Markakis, three black bordered minis, a couple of the A-Rod homer cards & a Dice K rookie. Other than that, got a few A&G back minis. But, nothing fantastic to report. Good luck to the rest of you!

Edited: Took a second look and noticed that I had pulled two flag minis and a caligula mini as well.

Well, assuming you don't collect the George Washington relics then there are 63 cards in the relic set. Fortunately most of them are only a buck or two. I think some board members are starting to use Scott Rolen jerseys as packing material so maybe even less. The 16 SP's are generally around $20-$30 except for Mantle (approx $100) and Bruce Lee (approx $250). Keith Olbermann's are selling for $120-$150 pretty consistantly right now. The Arthur Shorin will probably run $160-$180 but there have not been too many of those popping up lately so maybe $200+ on that. So, the 63 relics will cost (my estimate, not Beckett or anybody else with credibility) around $1000 - $1100.

Nice on the Joe pull. I haven't specifically seen the Target one's being sold on Ebay. I've asked a few sellers and their response has been why does it matter? So, I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag to people I don't know or trust for that matter.

As a side note, my wife said that she is not able to be sub-contracted out. That the only package that will be searched is mine. Take that how you want.

I for one am personally offended, as I wanted your wife and my g/f to simultaneously open a hobby box for me...so that I could get both remaining cut sigs.

But I think my grieving will subside if you can buy the Bruce Lee mini wood on eBay and send that to me for free....

If the blaster box says "$19.99" in the orange box in the upper right hand corner, then it's a Target blaster. All others say "Bonus" or something along those lines. Just look at the image in the auction.

My first A&G purchase was from Target in the form of 3 blasters. I pulled an SP auto and a base relic, not to mention an Emperor and several flags. I've not found a Target blaster since.

i havent opened any A&G, but i did break down and buy the Bruce Lee gi on ebay.. i couldnt help it..

i actually passed a couple blasters up at wal-mart, i figured the bruce lee was the main card i wanted, plus i had already read about the Target blasters being better..

Just left my local Target and bought one blaster to later sell and they had 7 left. What would these sell for? Worth buying to re-sell to make a few bucks? I see some blasters sell for around retial price and I'd hate to get stuk with them.

So far I have opened 4 boxes of Target blasters and found 2 common GU and a common player no# mini and a black Ali no# mini. No too great IMO. I think the blaster I just bought will be opened within the next 10 min. or so. lol I have terrible self control. See ya tomorrow.

LOL I just logged on to post my bust. I did pull the Pierre SP Dodger I needed so thats cool. Didnt want to pay $3-4 with shipping for it.

The best and only good card was a flag. A cool flag at that.

This is going to sound crazy, but I bought two more blasters today from Toys R US. I knew better, but I did anyway. Of course, nothing. No SP's, nothing. I'm not convinced that Target has an inside person at Topps.
