ive never seen a dollar coin slot machine or a gambling hall to say the least but i thought i saw one being used on the Late show with Conan last year where he had someone gamble at a slot machine and he gave the winnings to the audience
<< <i>maybe it spent some time in a slot machines ????

I'm curious if it was found in Colorado Springs, CO. I got one that looked similar out of the post office stamp machine. I spent it shortly afterwards.
You know, the more I look at this image the upset I am to think that we will have to deal with the pres dollars for many years to come. At least the sacs will be in production as well. I really do wish the sac would circulate more. It would be great to have such a beautiful coin passing through one's hands on a daily basis.
I have a pocket piece that shows about as much wear as the one pictured. I, too think the design is outstanding. It seems to have much higher relief on the obverse than our other current coins do.
Some quality time in a rock tumber and a month in someone's pocket might make it to about that state pretty reliably. I thught about trying that to get a PO-1 or FA-2 specimen.
DAMN, that's an attractive eagle! I think we see too many of them to realize it, but Sacs are downright attractive coins. At least that's one design we have the mint got right.

<< <i>I've seen a few circulated sacs that had most of the gold color worn off. >>
The coin isn't gold plated so there is no gold color to wear off; however, it will tone to a darker brown color.

The eagle seems to have only one foot.

I harbor the fantasy that this sac actually saw some honest circulation.... sigh
<< <i>Possible lost pocket piece. >>
Yes. It might be fresh back from Ecuador or The Dominican Republic also. They circulate widely in a few countries.

For me it further substantiates my personal belief that the Sac is the most beautiful US coin design of the past 50 years.

Yes
Can you say that about any of the other circulating coinage of today?
