1/2 2007 Gold bullion $380 - Spouse $410.95

For the spouse bashers, I'm failing to see how buying the Spouse Unc. is a bad investment, it's only an 8% markup compared to common 2007 1/2 oz eagle bullion.

Yeah but ya have to actually receive it for it to be an investment. Otherwise it's just paper trading.

If I'm not mistaken, the cost to acquire a 1/2oz American Eagle gold coin is even lower at $379

The First Spouse is a 24K bullion coin and the Eagle is a 22K bullion coin, both have 1/2oz of gold the eagle is mixed with silver so it has more precious metal hence the First Spouse should cost less. As is the case with the buffalo and the 1oz Eagle.

That Canadian 100 Kilo that didn't sell sure seems like a bargain now. If gold hits $700/oz you would have been even at melt! image

Do you get a full half ounce of gold in the GAE half ounce?

Anyone know if the mintages are limited, or what are they projected to be?

    Is COINBOY in the house?

Yes, you do get a full half ounce of gold in the GAE.

Mintages of burnished uncirculated W mint mark GAE aren't limited. They are minted per demand and the program probably will end on the last day of 2007

The coin gross weight is slightly over a 1/2 oz to account for the other metals. There is a 1/2 oz net weight of gold in each. There are no minatge limits to the burnished AGE's

The un-audited mintage figures for the 2006-W AGE Coin World reported on 06/25 are:

    Individual 2006-W 1 oz $50 AGE - 7,200 + 12,775 four-coin sets + 30,000 in the 20th Anniversary sets = 49,975 total
    Individual 2006-W 1/2 oz $25 AGE - 6,075 + 12,775 four-coin sets = 18,850 total
    Individual 2006-W 1/4 oz $10 AGE - 7,150 + 12,775 four-coin sets = 19,925 total
    Individual 2006-W 1/10 oz $5 AGE - 12,875 + 12,775 four-coin sets = 25,650 total

The current 2007-W figures from the 09/18 Numismatic News:

The 1oz at $750 is a better deal IMO. Not only are you paying less markup for the gold, but since the 2007-W won't be in the anniversary sets the mintage should be much lower than last year.

Yes, but it looks like the mintage numbers are quite low so far for the 1/2 ounce.

Hmmmmmmm. I may need to get one.image

    Thanks guys!

    From 2006...........

Actually yes.....they are a full half ounce of gold.

Did anyone know there was some silver in the AGE????

They are in effect 22K ....see below specs.............

The gross weight of AGE 's is slightly larger than the Gold weight to compensate for the additional metal. All AGE's are guaranteed bt the US Mint to have their stated weight in pure gold.

Are they really this stupid, or are they destroying the dollar on purpose?

The mint gold prices are behind the recent runup in gold, making mint prices a bargain. Normally, when mint is way out in front of spot gold price i go to these guys for the best bullion prices. Have to buy minimum 10 oz., but shipping is free:
