1758 King Ferdinand VI gold coin

I tried posting this in world coins but I get a red x so I thought that I would try it here.
I have had this for awhile now.
Can you tell me what it is and its value?

If it is gold dollar size, it is a 1/2 escudo of Spain, Madrid mint (M with a crown).
I would value it at not much over gold value ($32). They seem to be strangely common.

I just sold a half escudo on eBay for $82. Mine was in better condition and problem free (and a different date). I would guess just a little over melt is your value.

It appears as though yours might have been part of a piece of jewelry at one time. Regardless, assuming it is real it is still worth at least gold bullion.

Strange days when you can have a 1758 gold coin for bullion prices.

I'd say that scores pretty high on the coolness scale regardless of intrisic or collector value.
