Opinion on PSA Reviews

I have a Gaylord Perry 1962 PSA 7 rookie that I am pretty sure will grade an 8 if i was to crack it and resubmit it. However, I am scared that if i do that it will come back as a nightmare not holdered or another 7. So i want to hear opinions on what amount of success you all have had on sending cards graded by PSA in holders for review. I would be sending the card in with a minimum grade request of 8 but don't want to waste my money if PSA is known for not bumping up a grade. I'll add a scan in tomorrow. Thanks.

If the grade dont fit, resubmit, IMO they won't bump it, PSA has/will never made mistakes
  • You're wasting time and money if you submit under "review". Not all crack is bad. image

  • Good day,
Learned my lesson the Hard way. I had 18 each 1966 Batman Black Bat, part of a larger order of mostly 9's. These 18 came back as NM-MT 8's. I knew they were all clear perfect 9's. Complained to Linda (At PSA) and since they owed me for something else (A major Mechanical error on a big order), sent them all back for review. All 18 came back exactly the same NM-MT 8's. Took the same 18 cards cracked them out and resubmitted them cold with no history and got 13 9's out of it. PSA wil not and has never admitted that their Graders could be wrong. Review is a Giant waste of money. Crack and Re-Submit !!!!!

True, but unless you're the 1% that is an auction house, crack them out!

i have the same dilema with a 1952 topps mantle in psa 4. i really think it is a 5. but i dont want to crack it out with the concerns of damaging it myself, it getting damaged in transit or at psa or even worse. the grading fee is $200 alone for review or to simple grade it from raw. i was thinking of sending in the psa 4 under the review program but if they rarely (if ever) upgrade them, i dont want to waste the $200 and have the stress. cheaper cards i would definately crack it out first but this is a tough scenerio b/c of the high value at stake. i dont know what to do.
