**UPDATE** - SELLER ALLOWS DISPUTE TO ESCALATE, PAYPAL SAYS HE IS WRONG AND AWARDS ME REFUND - COIN RETURNED - CASE CLOSED
Want to see some absolute crap sold on Ebay?
I got an incredibile email from him denying what you see below as flawed and I will post that verbatium if he insists on continuing this game.
Here is a taste what I got this morning at the post office:

At this point, it's not for the $116 but for the insistance that when you sell on Ebay, before you list you must ask yourself: " Would I sell this to my Mom"?
If you can not answer yes, it should never be listed.

Never view my other linked pages. They aren't coin related.
He's not going to refund.
I'm not going to NEG him (on EBay) , who cares?
I will just do a charge back and get the money.
I want this Board to know that this guy is selling crap and not showing the true condition of the coins.
He carfuly avoids text, because as he states to me "I am a Senior Compliance Officer at a Tax and Financial Services Firm".
So he avoids the lie on paper, but Pictures do NOT lie.
Hope this auction does work out for you COINBOY.

Plus, he's lost more than the $116.00, now. I hope eveyone stays away from the guy!

BTW here is the MS66 I got back from PCGS:
Link to the Thread on the MS66 RP - Population of 4 at PCGS!
I've had the coins 4 hours when I alerted him of the coin he sent as being flawed and NOT as described.
When I sent him the Pictures, this response was:
"I just saw these photos. I can definitely assure you that is a HUGE milk spot that was not there for absolutely SURE when I mailed it. My scanner was set on 0 and 0 when scanned, and as you can see, when I had the coin, it had no milk spots that I could see, and I would have SURELY seen something that big, I have good eyes, and the scanner would definitely pick that up."
The guy is a BAD, BAD!
Everyone Beware of the seller!! Boycott his crap!
Yeah, it just showed up on the way to you...
These things are accidents waiting to happen.
I wonder how much money PCGS is going to keep on being willing to lose on their grading guarantee by slabbing these things before they stop?
I would hold your position as it appears to be sound. Really, the fact that he won't honor a request for an immediate return on a $120 coin is all I need to know to put him on the 'do not deal with' list. Thank you and sorry for your experience.

Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
I think this would come under the damaged or otherwise ruined clause of return policy... go get em!!
<< <i>The reverse picture that you took and the one in the auction are the same coin. Look at the chip on the stacking ring just above the label. He may have angled it just right with the lighting or photo shopped the picture either way, he's trying to be slick. >>
I thought it could be the same coin, too. Different lighting will show up different flaws, but the chip in the stacking ring is pretty obvious. Much drama about nothing.
They seem to tend to milk-spot. Is there a specific type of corrosion causing this, or has the specific cause for THIS TYPE of corrosion not been identified?
Has anybody had any luck trying to remove these with extremely gentle dipping or something else?
I have bought and sold hundreds of these.
This is my first dealing with an EBay scamster.
This thread is about registrysource who is ripping off Collectors, claiming he didn't see a problem when he sent a coin out.
When confronted with the news that my 4 year old daughter asked about the 'white-stuff ' on the Lady's feet, registrysource morphed an excuse that the coin 'somehow' developed the problem during transit.
1.) registrysource is a liar and all photos for his auctions should be SUSPECT!
2.) No one should do business with registrysource and expect an honest deal.
3.) registrysource should be Boycotted and Blocked
5.) registrysource sells classics and moderns.
6.) registrysource writes to me of his integrity: "I am a Senior Compliance Officer at a Tax and Financial Services Firm".
It is no wonder the Mortgage Business is crashing, guys like registrysource are the watchdogs!
To me it's the same ASE reverse. The photo is hiding some of the hologram wear and the milk spotting. I won a PCGS MS66 1918 old holder Lincoln where the seller conveniently hid a massive fingerprint on one quarter of the reverse by completing shading that area in the photo. I negged him but ate the coin for a 20% loss. Either a seller stands behind his goods or he doesn't.
I also had an incident with Harbor Coin / Brian Timmons on a 1795 half that I purchased raw on ebay. I specifically asked the seller for a return priv since no policy was stated for raw coins. They clearly state NO RETURNS for slabs. They granted that to me. When I got the coin it was far more cleaned than the photo showed. And it was not quite the VF20 coin the seller indicated. I sent them an email within 24 hours of receiving the coin that I wanted to return it. Did the same thing over the next few days. They did not answer. Figuring these guys could be crooks I did not want to return the coin w/o a reply from them (did that once years ago and lost both the money and the coins). Things just didn't feel right with this guy. And they were running other auctions as well! I finally negged the jerk after 30 days....then their email started "working" again. Their retaliatory neg to me was that I didn't follow their 3 day return policy. What crap. First time I sent the coin to NGC they BB'd it for cleaning. After a year of trying to sell it raw I finally sent it off to auction and was able to just get my purchase price back because these coins had moved up in price again. Curiously, the auction house was able to get it slabbed, but not me. A trend that is becoming all too familiar imo.
Having a stated return policy does not mean the seller is going to stick to it.
roadrunner
You have a good rep here and on eBay.
What you got was a bait and switch.
he has other coins with return policy, why not this one?
ps to roadrunner below...yes it could be the same coin, but it wasn't represented truthfully in the auction, that is still B&S, for me at least
What is concerning is that seller won't honor his return privilege and that he "knows" he never sent out a milk spotted coin (ie it happened in transit!...lol)

<< <i>I'm not going to NEG him (on EBay) , who cares? >>
If he refuses to accept a return, you should neg him. He is a classic example of a seller who deserves negative feedback. He earned it by running a deliberately deceptive auction. Not negging sellers like this is why the feedback system is useless.

Agree 100%. Neg him. Also pursue with eBay, seller won't honor stated return privilege. If you paid with Paypal, submit a chargeback. Keep on his a$$ and you might get some satisfaction as well as a refund.

I've been in the same position with the spotted 06w's
I've abandoned buying off ebay unless the seller guarantees no spotting
If they dont guarantee, I dont bid.
Good luck and definitely do the chargeback.
Russ, I am afraid the EBay system is useless in this case; I am a 100% Postive on my EBay rating. Any neg to him gets me retaliated, and he is calculating correctly, that I do not want the Neg.
Swampboy adeptly noted how he works his strikes: registrysource Negative ratings
Since I didn't do wrong here, why take a Neg that could hurt my sales right now?
So, what to do? Develope an action plan that is avoids me getting a NEG for getting tricked into buying his coin and getting my money back.
I tried to reason - didn't work, the guy wants money, not honor, he dosen't care.
A.) I will now file on him on Ebay/PayPal as miss-representing coin. Evidence gathered. His Name is outed.
B.) File for a Chargeback with my Visa Card, the photos were doctored in some fashion, I will win here.
C.) The BEST Part - Show the PCGS US Coin Forum a an active EBay Scammer, show how he works, and warn everyone off him as the liar and cheat, he is.
Many reading the thread will not only Block him, but will NEVER Buy from him, Ever.
This is very satisfying to know that there is going to be a large cost to him for being a Thief and a Scammer. Much better than a NEG in this case.
BTW, Thank you EVERY One for the support!
<< <i>Many reading the thread will not only Block him, but will NEVER Buy from him, Ever. >>
The vast majority of eBayers will never see this thread, but would read his feedback. I understand your fear of a retaliatory negative, but it is precisely that fear and unwillingness to post the feedback this seller deserves that makes the feedback system useless. I would suggest that you setup another eBay account for buying so that if this happens in the future you can do the right thing without worrying about damaging your selling account.

thats clean, to cover up the milk.
Does he take returns?
Won't PCGS buy it back?

<< <i>Why not just link this thread in the feedback you leave for him, then all would know the real deal? >>
That is considered feedback abuse and would be grounds for eBay to remove the feedback.
<< <i>Feedback abuse and removal
Feedback that meets any of the circumstances below is feedback abuse and may be subject to removal.
Feedback that doesn't meet any of the reasons outlined below will not be removed:
eBay is provided with a valid court order finding that the disputed feedback is slanderous, libelous, defamatory or otherwise illegal.
The feedback comment contains profane, vulgar, obscene, or racist language or adult material. Inflammatory language, such as "fraud, liar, cheater, scam artist, con man" etc., while strongly discouraged, will not be removed.
The feedback comment contains personal identifying information about another member, including real name, address, phone number, or e-mail address.
The feedback makes reference to an eBay, PayPal or law enforcement organization investigation.
The feedback comment contains links or scripts.
Negative feedback intended for another member will be considered for removal only in situations where the member responsible for the mistaken posting informs eBay of the error and has already placed the same feedback for the correct member.
Feedback left by a person ineligible to participate in eBay transactions, according to Section 1 of the eBay User Agreement, at the time of the transaction or the time the feedback was left.
Feedback left by a member who provided eBay with false contact information and could not be contacted. In general, the transaction period is considered to be 90 days from the end of the listing or 30 days from the date the feedback was left, whichever was longer.
Feedback left by a member who bid on or purchased an item solely to have the opportunity to leave negative feedback for the seller, with no intention of completing the transaction.
Feedback left by users who are indefinitely suspended for certain policy violations within 90 days of registration. eBay takes the position that members who are indefinitely suspended soon after registration shouldn't be able to permanently impact another member's account.
eBay will automatically remove feedback from members indefinitely suspended within 90 days of registration. Not all suspension types qualify for automatic feedback removal. For example, accounts that are suspended for non-payment of eBay bills and instances when eBay provides the member with the opportunity to fix the issue (and be reinstated), do not qualify for automatic removal. >>

It is the lighting ..just as teletrade will photograph Prf silver coins to hide the spots . This seller is canned in my book
<< <i>If you paid with PayPal, just open a dipute. If he does not send you the coin pictured for the auction he will automatically lose the dispute. >>
Yep. Just send it back to him. I've had to do that with a couple sellers, doesn't matter what they do next, PayPal refunds you eventually.

I have seen these spots develop very quickly with temperature changes...You call a guy a thief, a scammer and call for boycotts and such when you received the same serial-number coin you ordered. Why would you air this "dirty laundry" in public and make comments that could cost you a thousand times what you think you lost on this transaction. You must be pretty young and never have been the party to a lawsuit.
Quite the contrary. I am in the law business. I chose my words quite carefully based on facts and correspondence from him not shared here. I suspect he is monitoring these posts as I told him I would be posting what he has done.
Are you related in some fashion to him? Have him respond.
The only "dirty laundry to air" is the dirty coin he sent.
It is what it is, pal.
As a dealer and an eBay seller, what would you do if this was one of your sales?
If it was my deal, I would take the coin back and refund Coinboy's money. I would send the coin to PCGS to recoup my money that way. Why not take it back especially if you have a return policy that allows it?
<< <i>Frank,

I'd refund his money and deal with PCGS. But Coinboy's comments are WAY overboad, and after Accugrade, I thought collectors are more smart about what they type in a message board that they someday might have to justify in front of a jury.
