ASU is in Tempe......U of A is in Tucson.
There's some unusual stuff in the shops out there since they end up with the coins that retirees take out there.

<< <i>There’s a great one near Surprise, on Bell Road, just northwest of PHX 6 or 7 miles. Well worth it. Lots of certified material.

For the rest of 2007 the dates are:
Sep 9th
Oct 14th
Nov 11th
Dec 9th
It's at the Elks Lodge at 6398 E Oak (NW corner of 64th St & Oak)
Call them at 480-946-9368 if you get lost
<< <i>You might stop by the monthly coin & collectible show.

Thank You very much. I know the area very well. I used to live in Paradise Valley but I wasn't a coin collector then.

Xavier Coins
6750 E. Main Street, Suite 104 NW corner of Main and Power
Mesa, AZ 85205
480-985-6381
Greg Willits is the owner. Of the 3 I'm going to mention, he's the best - nice to work with, great inventory.
I've done okay at these 2, also:
Action Coin Trader
7129 E Main Street - 2-3 blocks east of Power on Main street
Mesa, AZ 85207
480-396-0399
Rich Becker is the Owner - decent sort of guy, somewhat more limited inventory
History by George
129 W Main Street - Downtown Mesa
Mesa, AZ 85201
480-898-3878
Sometimes George is there, sometimes it's his wife. Again, somewhat limited inventory
Hope this helps.

Great BST purchases completed with commoncents123, p8nt, blu62vette and Stuart. Great coin swaps completed with rah1959, eyoung429 and Zug. Top-notch consignment experience with Russ.
Honestly, there are some great finds. Look around the NW area near Sun City. There are a number of shops that cater to the older community. Here you will occasionally find a nice piece. Not the nice piece that Stone is looking for! Dude, those are on campus!

O'no not another U of A'er to deal with; ASU grad myself. If you can make it up for the monthly
Scottsdale show there are a couple of good dealers there and some nice material some months. Shoot me a PM and I'll tell you how to get there from Tuscon.

Chris, I'm still aiming to get to that show one of these months. When is the next one?

<< <i>I have not looked at the calendar for next month so I'm not sure of the exact date, but its allways on the second Sunday of the month unless that date is a holiday. This months was this past Sunday. I did see a few coins I liked this month but I just bought a new computer so I was just window looking this month.
Chris >>
Okay, thanks Chris. If I behave myself (like I should be doing ), I'll only be window looking myself. But it'll be fun to go. Looks like next show is September 9, then.

Lumberjacks! Yeah!
Class of 84'
I went by a small coins shop on the way home and picked up a few trinkets. Nothing stupendous but rather nice toning on the 1973 Canadian and 1898-O Morgan. And a 1957 proof set.
Also stopped in a pawnshop and picked up this unusual but nice silver "something or another".
