Last Time You Found a 1959 Memorial Cent In Change?

Through my usual screening of pocket change, wheat cents usually catch my eye while memorials are quickly put in with the rest. After lord knows how long, I found a 1959-D in change that just happened to catch my eye. I wonder if the date is illusive in circulation or just easily skipped b/c it's a memorial cent.

    No, it's easy.

Some of the S mints are a little tough.

I don't know why it should be so, but 1959 seems strangly scarce in the Boston area. 1960's are not that common but are much more common than 1959. I am talking Philly mint. Denvers are much scarcer yet in this area.

I found two the other day going through some rolls I picked up at the bank.

One was AUish with some nice red around the rim.

The first time I went to Boston, I found a 1959 cent in an Au Bon Pain. I thought to myself "Ooh! A wheatie!" But then I saw the last 9 and I was like "Damn."

seen one in the "give a penny, take a penny" tray at the smoke shop less than a week ago, i can spot a pre-69 lincoln from a mile away, probably from years of roll searching.
