12% of 2007-W ASE Unc's graded PCGS MS70 on this submission

GoldbullyGoldbully Posts: 18,488 ✭✭✭✭✭
Seems to be a common return thus far on PCGS's grading of this modern issue.

PCGS Submission

I've noticed many forum members posting statements like, "if this mintage does not exceed 500,000, it will be the key to the series!!"

I must say to those ASE devotees, I just received a nice postcard in my mail today........FWIW!!!!

Bottom line.....this ASE series is going to be oversold...as the Mint will push it till it dies!!!!!!

I'm glad I'm holding onto my 2006-W's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JMHO of course....image

We'll see on the mintage. If it is low, I am happy. If it isn't, I am still happy. image
(I do think it will be much lower than people think though).

And, that 12% may be the common return for PCGS but that is likely for unscreened submissions. I screened mine, sent in 4, got 2 MS70 and 2 MS69. 50%, not 12% image
Just picked them up from the PO yesterday. Time to sell all 4 I think image (1st strike...heh!)

Maybe hold off selling to see if mint will end sales early. If they do I see these selling a lot more than for $200. There is a slim chance since demand is waning.

I agree with you on that but I also don't mind a nice return either.
I will see......right now, I won't take less than $200 and, if the market is currently depressed, then I won't sell....I can still pay the mortgage so it doesn't hamper much image

there is very little risk in these at 21.95 per coin
demand is dead for these coins
    sales are hardly moving
if this coin makes 600k, it'll be a miracle
postcard or no postcard, hell, they can run a 30 sec TV spot if they like, sales are in the dumpster

actually, 12% is pretty high from PCGS.
  • Well I hardly call 396K Coins sold in 58 days "slow", lol!

    All I need the 2007's to hit s 470,001 and I'm happy.

It is only 74K coins short of being #2 behind the KING, the 2006 W Unc.

Way too premature to be calling anything a "king" right now IF the mint keeps making these burnished, mintmarked, W SAEs.
If they do, they are likely to be treated as a separate series. Then, they will be too close to each other's mintages to be considered "keys".

If they had been a 1 year "type", then that would be different.

  • I've been thinking about getting one of these for my collection when I place my order for my 2007 silver proof set. So is you guys opinion that its a pretty safe bet to buy a few extra incase they go all crazy high like last years. Just wondering incase I totaly misread this thread.

    thanks

I managed to pull of a 0% return of 70's from NGC. Thats what you get when you pre-screen.

Maybe the graders don't even look at the coin, it's a simple formula of percentage graded, receive the coveted 70.

Do they really give a damn about your pre-screened coins?

    07-W NGC MS69, followed by a 2005 NGC MS70. Yes, I said NGC MS70

  • In fairness, the finish is different on a 2007-W marketed as a collectable than a 2005 bullion issue so they may grade it differently.
