Hows this for being held in a feedback hostage situation

I bought a coin from this seller who's desription was mint state mark free.I received the coin and i lost count counting the marks on a circulated piece of junk,of course i couldn't see those marks on his doctored up photo he had in the listing.I mailed him my displeasure of the coin and here is his reply.( Who wants to leave the first vulgar, ugly, and exceptionally loud Negative Feedback first, That is, if Any? You make the choice.)The coin was a 1922-D peace dollar.

Throw it in your melt box and move on- if you must, neutral him. It's not like you spent a ton of money on it.

Agreed. This person's conduct is totally unacceptable and will be investigated by ebay, if reported.

Unfortunately, this IS one of the Major flaws regarding the feedback system.

How about sharing the exact text of the eMail you sent him?

    Russ, NCNE
  • What did you say to him? This over $16
We see so many of these threads.
  • In the heat of the moment, this is what i sent him.( Dear dspearmanh,

I am well aware of what a mint state coin looks like and a piece of junk like you sent me.You are an ebay scammer and nothing more. )

So, in your initial eMail you called him a scammer? I can understand his reaction. I still don't think he should have made the threat he did, but I can understand it.

if the seller is an ebay scammer, the buyer is a hopeless soul who is
always looking for a bargain and complains when he gets ripped.

there is always this relationship. greed meets greed.

you could not pay a few dollars more and get a real MS coin eh?
had to try to save a few bucks when we tell you that no name ebay
    sellers are jerks.

ANOTHER thing wrong with the feedback system ...... COMPLACENCY!

Photograph the item received. ( Document everything. file your report and be prepared to go the distance)

Leave a positive feedback. Something like :
You can paint a turd, but it's still a turd image Descriptions are important !

Next time you want a coin like a 22 D peace dollar... PM me. I'll find you an "untampered" with coin.
    Edit :

You could also just write him of your displeasure with the description. His feedback suggests you just didn't get the diamond in the rough. Why ruin a good fishing hole ? His wife could have a long "honey do'' list.
Men have PMS , too ? I dunno. It's entirely up to you to bridge a gap or burn a bridge. They collapse on their own easy enough.

Gee, I can't understand why he would compose a defensive and hostile reply. It doesn't really justify the response, but given what you wrote first, I find it hard to find too much fault there.

How about showing us what the coin really looks like compared to the image?

Hmmm. All of his 1922-D's share this same description. Word for word which tells me........uh..........nothing.

But when you toss the first grenade over the wall (i.e. I am well aware of what a mint state coin looks like and a piece of junk like you sent me.You are an ebay scammer and nothing more. )

How did you expect the seller to react? I mean really?

Did you ask to return the coin since he offers a 3 day return policy or did you just send your scammer email?

What else are you not saying with regard to this situation?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Not only that, but none of them sold for more than about $15. I'm not sure what one expects to get for $15, but a "mark free mint state" Peace Dollar isn't it.
