Just a note; Microsoft DOES make a version of Word and Excel for Mac. Many prefer it on the Mac (it works more often than on PC). When I moved from PC to Mac I didn't have a problem with ANY of my files opening on the Mac.

Now, if you want a Mac but still have to have your "Windows Fix" you can install a program that lets you either run Windows in a "Window" on your desktop OR a program that lets you choose, when you turn the machine on, between OSX and Windows!

    Enjoy your upgrade!

Mac OS X v10.4.9 on an upgraded-to-within-an-inch-of-its-life sawtooth G4. Bought in '99, and I've upgraded several hard drives, processors and video cards over the years. Oh, and the apartment was struck by lightning a few years back. Fried the router, a hub and the ethernet port on the Mac, but I installed a PCI 100BaseT card and she's still running strong! Apple hardware is damn near bulletproof!

Also, 10.3.9 on Powerbook G3 Pismo.

And OS 9.2.2 on another PB G3 Wallstreet.

And XP on a homebuilt Athlon XP 2200+

And 9.1 on an iMac 233...Plus the dozen or so assorted old Macs and PCs cluttering the living room and my closet. I think I may have a problem. Too many computers out there, too little moolah in here! Same with coins, too...

Anyway, good to see so many Macs represented here. I knew this place had class!

I want to go mac. My musician friends say it's the only way. My website designer says the same thing.
But closing my windows is like dumping my widgets and only having one box of 20. I might end up with a better system but then I won't have as many widgets to deal with...
    And widgets are relative.
