    Mac I expected...

But Wow! was not thinking I'd hear from a 3.1 user (never mind a CPM)!
If you don't mind my asking, have you stuck with 3.1 because you've had no compelling reason to upgrade?
Just don't want the hassle of learning how to do the same things all over?
Or just not a big computer user?

Feel free to tell me to bug off image

PS: CPM? you must be pulling my leg right?

Unfortunately - When small companies pick a platform to write for (with everything else being equal) they go for Microsoft OSs.

Writing a Mac or Lynx variant is almost like writing two totally different applications, expenses are doubled but return is only +10%

I recall buying a CP/M card from Applied Engineering (remember them?) for the ][e so I could run Turbo Pascal at home and I could do all my college programming assignments at home.

Yes we've had lots of fun Beta testing Vista - But for this app the issues were mostly IE7 based.

IE7 is junk. My employer forbids IE7 on its systems. When you log into their network -- at the office or through VPN -- there's code that loads in the login script that prevents IE7 from installing, and removes it if present. That's how highly industry thinks of IE7...

I had no choice - like it or not it's the future, when MS pulls the plug on XP that's it... Vista will eventually rule, just not today.

This is very telling - thank you all.

Windows: 98, ME and NT4 combined have less market share then Mac.

From a users point of view I don't see a problem with IE7 either, but a few changes were made to how certain events functioned. All minor stuff (for this application) with work arounds available. Just that things stopped working till we figured out what they were. image

I'll give you one example out of many. One of my clients is an accounting firm, and one of the applications they use works in tandem with the web browser. A few of their workstation users upgraded to IE 7 and that particular ap suddenly ceased to work. In fact, opening it would crash the system.

I have this keyboard hooked to a black box. Then there is this Television thing that has wires going to a black box. There is a fishy thing with a wire that goes to the black box, too. Some speakers go to it, also. I just know how to type and hit enter. My daughter turns the computer on for me and I go to work with the keyboard. It's a typewriter that has the correction tape built into it. I like the gadgetry, but my daughter just sings some silly song about the farmer in the dell™

Do you know how to hook up a milking cow ?

Yes they do. But if I wanted to run Windows, I'd just go ahead and spend $600 on a Dell. Besides, my circa 1999 Mac running circa 1993 MS Word, Excel, and Photoshop still runs great and I prefer it over my PC running Window 2000XP at work.

Using Vista Ultimate on my main computer, still lots of problems, and a much bigger tendency to crash and reboot on it's on than XP ever had. I'm still using XP on my laptops where my collecting software is located. (Coinmanage)
