To think people are actually bashing Ripken with the likes of Bonds and Pay-Rod walking the earth... makes me worry about the future of society.

    Just as a disclaimer:

I don't believe one person honestly sees Ripken in a negative light. He was a class act on and off the field... You can only hope young players will take a page from his book and continue his legacy image

Unless he continues pimping products on QVC image
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

All he ever sold in his playing days was milk and a local family amusement park (Wild World/Adventure World). Now he's selling Comcast, Holiday Inn, his own autograph, his former teammates autographs, crap like an iron "8" plaque, and his wife's junk. Take that for what it's worth. I think if you asked him in his playing days would he be doing all of this, he'd tell you to f- off.

<< <i>Comeon ripken, I'm a Cal fan like most people who grew up here and the crap he's selling is fine, but it's QV freakin C. He's gotta stand next to that clown next to him and answer his stupid questions with a smile. Not to mention all of the other goofy promotions he's done over the last 2 years. It's really out of character for him and totally getting out of hand. He needs a selling-out intervention.

Lee, if he's been doing it for over 2 years, how is it "out of character"?

He had his own cereal back around 2000 ("Cal's Classic O's") and had a Sega Genesis game in 1992.

Cal has been all over the shopping networks for years. The only difference is that now it's his own company and he takes the time to go on the shows himself.
