Guys on several subjective coins, There will not be an anniversary set this year and this is according to what the mint is telling me. Look for another investment ! The new plat proof set that went on sale today is priced in the ozone at 2950 so I look for this one to give us an aftermarket and to possibly sneek in with some low numbers if the price keeps buyers out. The Mintstate plats (on sale today) are a bit cheaper and these are a "BEST GUESS" situation. The numbers on all these coins have not had any consistency with any history on any coins. Watch closely before diving in !!!!
The upside is that the new pricing will in all likelyhood, bring the backdated coins to a new level in pricing. Just My thoughts.

Im looking forward to this years changing reverse plats. They are awesome looking IMHO. Next year will be too with the eagle and the oal perched together. I will buy some to complete both my MS and proof sets Lord willing and will be happy with them. The mintages will likely be low for a modern but just so so for a plat and thats ok. I want one of every changing reverse plat. I can't say that about any other series.
Guys we are collecting tomorrows MEGA set......right now......it has no equal for design based set rarity and its lovely and well thought out with no politics. I'm just glad its in our lifetimes.
<< <i>So this year is essentially no different. >>
The big difference this year is that the coins will be available for sale for six months rather than three, so there will be more sales--making it unattractive as a flipping opportunity.

Assuming you spoke to the reps at 1-800-USA-MINT, beware that they are not actually Mint employees, and they have absolutely no idea what the Mint is and is not going to produce in the future. Those with connections who actually work at the Mint have told us that Mint officials are still undecided about a 10th Anniversary Platinum set. No decision has been made--so don't put too much trust in what you've just been told.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."

I look for 95% of any such sets to go to a select few.
Has anyone's order shipped? My order from the Mint is still on hold and they are telling me that "due to the high dolllar amount it's standard procedure to hold orders for 7-10 days" now. And my CC still hasn't been charged. It does show as "In Stock & Reserved" and they are telling me day to day that my order is fine but this has never happened before!
My first order for one uncirculated set is doing the same thing. I ordered it about 12: 20 from my phone. This one lists the order number but NOT the date or the time. It says on hold. I also have called the Mint every day, and they said it is fine. It doesn't look it to me.
I don't know what is going on, but they are never on hold for four days or more with nothing on my credit card for a hold.
I also ordered ten minutes later Tuesday, from the computer, one 1/4 oz proof, and that one says in process. The date and time are listed.
** I just ordered one other uncirculated set, and that one has the date and time listed. I also just checked my credit card and the hold is on my credit card. It was almost immediate.
I really don't think the one Tuesday went through.
That's what I did, but I am not going to cancel my first order. I am going to call claims on Monday. It might make a difference with FS. Don't cancel just yet.
I would anticipate that the first 2007 W-Plat orders will be filled (shipped via FEDEX) no later than 7/25; delivered on 7/26 (actual deliveries on 7/27 at the latest).
My second order came today, a nice proof 1/4 oz. the reverse is beautiful! My first order (done by phone) has been in process and the mint keeps advancing the shipping date, so I went online and ordered it again! I am not cancelling anything until I get one of the orders fulfilled.
Has anyone heard anything lately about the possibility of a Platinum Anniversary Set with a Reverse Proof, one way or the other? The last I heard, there had been no decision either way.

I was in Milwaukee for the ANA show today. I went to the US Mint exhibit and asked the people manning the booth. They did not have any information about a 10th anniversary set. So we are still in the dark about this.
Grades just got posted for my first Platinum submission, not too bad, anyone have any idea what prices will range on these?

I got in right at 12.
<< <i>Let's see some unc. order numbers to try and gauge how they're doiing?
I just noticed that the web site no longer shows them as being back ordered.
unc. order --- 257939xx by phone @ ~12:35 EDT
Looks like all limits have been lifted. No back orders are list on the Mints web site.
They probably did that in case they got swamped.
I'll tell ya, there heads must be spinning. They can't figure out what's going to sell out and what's not.

If they're THAT stressed out, I would highly recommend they stop Platinum
production immediately to prepare for the Jefferson Spouse release!

I LOVE THE REVERSE! I believe the 2007 Plat designs
are my favorite thus far. And the "FREEDOM" ribbon really
adds to the design. So.....I"M HAPPY!!!!
I'll be totally inspecting the wings of the eagles on these
and hope they have extremely deep detail.

They now say in stock and reserved.
Post your picks when you get the coins. I want to see that reverse.

I'm guessing I'm going to have to cancel my order and reorder now!
My 4 coin uncirc. plat set is listed as in stock and reserved, with order status on hold.
I'll call tomorrow.
What's up with the "on hold" order status. Is this something that the mint does frequently? Why do they do this?
Thanks!
and the Cancel Box is GONE!!! Finally!

My entire order of 2007 W-Plats (uncirculated) arrived today at 9:52am; they were picked up by FEDEX on 7/24 at 5pm.......tick-tock-tick-tock......

Yeah, try anything and this eagle will kick your a$$!
Put your mint order number in the "reference" field, add your country and zip. If your order is coming out it will be here first.
