PLEASe help with condition of 1954 bowman cards

Ok these cards are clearly Off centered top to bottom. But most are centered 60-40 to 50-50 Lr. They all have MINT corners not a touch. I know they will grade a 9 but will they be MC or OC, or will the go down on the point grade???

    MC fleck maybe an oc

Definitely MC with the possibility of a sympathy o/c on the Fleck. To be o/c, they need some semblance of a border.

So do you think a PSA 9 MC would be worth grading or should I just put them in 1/4 inch cases. The color on these are amazing. They dont have a single flaw. The cardboard grades a straight 10 but the centering hurts the cards. What do yall think?

Gota love chaz. jk. But my last qustion was. Is there a big difference with MC and OC. I know what they mean. But what about price and are they worth grading? They will all grade 9s with a qual.

First of all, get those cards out of those thick screw downs. Those will pinch and damage the corners. So your 9 O/C just went to a 7 O/C.

    IMO.

I'd leave them in the screwdown holder and really put the clamps to the screws, maybe you will squeeze out a bottom border. If that doesn't work, which it wont, just toss them as they are worthless.image

So did you buy a 5-cent or a couple 1-cent packs?

As a fellow collector of '54B, I strongly suggest you don't bust any more packs because the odds are not in your favor at all.

Edited for example: You can get a high graded 1-cent pack, which has one card, for $75. You would probably need to hit one of four or five cards, out of 128, to justify opening the pack. I'm no math major but those odd suck.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Why would you say that stown? Because he just turned $600 into $20?

Oh, if it's a 5-cent pack, good night Irene.

As I said in my edited post above, the odds aren't there, ESPECIALLY for a 5-cent pack. You would need to pull at least two of the big cards in a PSA 8+ to justify the cost.

First off none of yall know how much I bought the pack for. I bought several packs over the last year and this one was only bought for 200.00 years ago. And it would have only graded ex-mt bc of a tear, so I busted it. Who cares. I can always replace it.

I know, I was just messing with you. I open my share of expensive -ev packs/boxes. I may be one of the only people here that can somewhat relate to opening the stuff you open, although there's no way I'd touch something like a 54 Bowman pack. The way I look at it is if it gets to a point where the rarity of the pack drives its value rather than the potential cards you could pull, then it's not worth the risk. But I'd never tell a man what to do with his money, so rip away.

I've purchased "9OC" cards before. I have two sweet '59 Fleer Williams cards that look great. I also picked up a stellar '63 Topps card in 9OC. No way in heck would I have been able to get away with buying a straight 9 of those cards otherwise. However, I will generally NOT buy a miscut card that's encapsulated unless it's of the '52T Mantle variety.

And 9OC cards are a great gift idea for sports fans who aren't sportscard collectors. They don't care too much about centering, but would appreciate sharp corners on an old card of one of their childhood heroes, along with lifelong protection via the slab.

Just remember, EVERY card has a market. It may be small, and not so lucrative, but priced right, every card will sell.
