the mint wont be shipping anymore until 7/17/07.Anyone know how many were already shipped?I got my sub. for 10 and 10 that I ordered the first day.

I've received 100 in two 50 count boxes. One box I opened the other box is still sealed in the FedEx box. Is it worth submitting these for first strike label? I am kind of on the fence on sending them in or not.

Its $10 a pop extra for FS. Now that there is a chance for a 70 it might be worth the gamble.

Bulk rate for 69's is $12/coin all inclusive of the First Strike destination, minimum 100 coins through the Bulk Department.

Bajjerfan....I can send them as a bulk submisson to PCGS and only pay $12 for frist strike MS69 and $25 first strike MS70. Maybe I should go for it.

I think he means just 228,000 minted. Of course, I'm sure PCGS would be very pleased to receive all these for the First Strike label but I somehow don't think thats going to happen! I have 4 that will not be submitted so that brings it down to 227,996!

OK - that makes more sense. I didn't look at the pops myself (just took MCN's number at face value).

But still - does the First Strike label really mean anything when there are so many?

must not matter much now.......

by the opening prices of PCGS MS70's at 180-200, they must have made at least 15% (or more) of submissions 70's

if they did not, then some sellers jumped the gun and priced the issue way too low (this seems to be a recurring problem)

my opinion is the coin should have been priced to start around 400 (easily)

I think some people have to go back to marketing 101

Maybe those who aren't sure about the First Strike label should ponder a little more, because essentially, it's an ounce of silver.
If you pay an ounce of silver to get an ounce of silver slabbed, is it worth twice as much as an ounce of silver being a "First Strike" ?

Someone please get back to me. My math ain't so good. But somethin' tells me if my finance were such, I'd be sending in 100. Then I'd have a "Go Fish Special " Auction on ebay

My 2 cents - And, if you are correct, perhaps a few handfuls of coins would have been sold to aggressive collectors this week, while many others stood on the sidelines watching to see where prices would head. Instead, best I can tell, HUNDREDS of MS70 coins were sold IN DAYS! The famous "quick nickels are better than slow dollars" at work here - not to mention VERY happycollectors.

as many veteran ebay sellers will tell you - it isnt easy selling 100's of slabbed silver eagles on ebay very quickly....the market can only absorb so many in that venue....

you have to have other outlets..

my example - on a typical bulk submission , only 10-12% made NGC MS70

that leaves lots of Early Release NGC MS69's to sell.

I've offered those essentially at cost -----$32.95 plus ship. ($21.95+$10 cert+$1 alloc postage to/fr NGC) on the BST forum

NO TAKERS. It isnt easy moving these things......

The feeling I get (and now know) from the posts from many guys selling these - - -is that PCGS must have went overboard grading lots of these 70's.

They may be worth far less than 199 once everyone knows the true pops

I have no idea of the "70 rate", but, I would not be surprised if it comes in under 10% (NGC rate of around 15%?)

But, again, a great example of NOT "hosing" the collectors AND "First Strike" carrying virtually NO PREMIUM (as many would like).

Nope, 20th Anniversary 2006-W PCGS MS69 ASE's sell for ~$150. The same coin with a First Strike label sells for around $350.

You are right on the money with your percentage of MS70 coins graded by NGC. I sent 100 to NGC's bulk grading dept. and received 15 MS70's & 85 MS69's.

That coin does not exist. There was no First Strike designation on the 2006-W since they came out first with the 20th Anniversary sets and if it qualified for the First Strike, it automatically qualified for the 20th Anniversary pedigree since it was released with the 20th Anniversary sets. The only options from PCGS were First strike 20th Anniversary, 20th Anniversary without the First Strike label or 2006-W with no pedigree.

not having any details of 07w's on the pop report,

gives me an uneasy feeling - is there going to be "full disclosure" of the SAE 07w MS70's pop?

First Strike Coin (150446) MS70 = 3 coins
Regular coin (150445) MS70 = 0

Will there be full disclosure?

I don't feel the least bit uneasy about this now that they started showing up in the pops!

The only reason your seeing just the three is because of the hoopla being generated on these boards and I suspect the CoinKing got in there specifically to get these added. Normally the pops do not get updated uintil Early Monday morning. I expect to see a big jump tomorrow morning.

I still dont understand how there are large numbers of these 70's in dealers hands but yet pops arent moving....
