    funny how out of all my coins this one gets the most attention and
    offers. a bargain at 145 a few years ago. i wish i could find more.
    from a forum member. the lowest pcgs has graded for this year/mint?

    Here's my Gold type set.....I also have a PO01 Gold $5......pretty cool. Lots of low grade Gold in my Registry set which is 53% complete and the #1 Low Ball set.

    I think that the $20 1905-S should be at least a PO-01. Take a look at it.

    Also I have a AG-03 $21/2 Pan Pacific Commem that is really cool looking.

    this thread just goes to show that half eagles were the workhorse
    of the economy. many folks in western towns were probably amazed
    to see double eagles while i bet half eagles were the norm.

    sucks that there is now more competition for low grade half eagles.
    disgust.

    I totally agree that $5 was more than many people saw on a regular basis unless they were wealthy. $20 Gold would have been something that people could see an increase in the nations wealth.

    BTW- I just got a VG-10 1834 $5 Classic in the mail today. Right now I have two different varieties of the plain 4 variety. My varieties are:

    Breen 6501 3B (R2) VG-10
    Breen 6502 4C (R3) F-12+

    These two coins will be on the BST in a couple minutes. With a couple other coins. No premium on these since these aren't pop lows.
