PCGS-MS70 Silver Eagles

  • All ASE's are now minted at West Point. From the bullion ASE brochure.-

<< <i>American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins are minted to demand in West Point, New York. >>

I think PCGS decision to grade the 'W' ASE's as a 70 is because they receive different handling than the bullion coins which are not considered numismatic pieces by the mint. So hopefully the milkspotting issue has been addresed.

  • << <i>Cullen: You are welcome for the "heads up" on these 07 Silver Eagles, which to this point I have not graded a single coin as I am not a big fan of MS Silver Eagles personally. Maybe I will submit a hundred coins or so now like many other board members may do to see what happens. Or, maybe I'll just buy freshly graded MS70 coins from one or more of the other dealers who also knew about this, but didn't bother to post a thread here to give heads up to the board and also don't need to waste their time responding to comments like I am here. But, I am happy to do it. >>

thank you for descending to inform small ballers what the future holds. perhaps the angst wasn't directed properly. i'm onto what's going on though, namely, providing a policy that auth dealers know in time to react to, and regular collectors don't. Never was it more obvious than the anniv sets, where the sealed shipping container came into play and wasn't announced until after people were receiving and opening theirs. Who in the heck doesn't open the fed ex box? how ridiculous, but just the same, at least inform EVERYONE in advance enough to react to. slightly similar situation here.

Cullen: Makes sense. But, remember, if I am not mistaken Ron G. posted guidance fairly quickly on 06(w) Anniv products - but, I do recall the situation involving just the regular proof coins you are speaking of as the other 2 coins still received "First Strike" even if opened during the first 30 days. Also, bear in mind, we have not done business before (at least I do not recall any) but, I would have no problem sharing whatever information I have with you or anyone who happens to ask me about a product deadline, etc. - and I do all the time with board members. However, PCGS has a policy of formally annoucing their own major developments and I try to respect that.

I'd be surprised if PCGS EVER announced this change. Let's wait and see.

They probably have the big boys attention.

  • << <i>NGC has 10,971 Coins graded MS70 out of that, or 14.84%

Well, we all know what is a waste of money to be collecting now, don't we image ?

A collectible coin will have some value besides BULLION value because of it's rarity.
Let's remember CONDITION RARITY only applies to lower POPS. So we dilute the market and give every coin a GOLD STAR and think we struck GOLD ?

    Hello ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

POPULATION ? HELLOOOOOOOOO ????? Who cares about 70 when the market is flooded ?
    What a joke ! >>

Who cares if the markets flooded. If a coins a 70 it should be a 70! No questions asked. Not all of us are doing this for money.

I have noticed that my second order for the 2007-W Uncirculated's keep being pushed back on the delivery date, right along with my first spouse order, now pushed back to 7/16, every day it seems to be pushed back one more day. Is it possible that they have decided to limit production to 500,000 units and forgot to tell someone??

I think you meant "fc". It kinda does look like a grey dirty athletic supporter.

They have already minted 282,336 and it took them 6 months to do so. It will take another 6 months to mint the other half. So 500,000 could be reasonable. Just surmising. NN BTW the one ounce proof AGE Gold will be sold out by next week if it already isn't. They need to limit the mintages of the Gold Buffalos to 25,000.
