Latest local coin shop finds - nice, original toners

Sometimes being a regular at a coin shop has it's advantages. I ask if he's got anything new in Washingtons or Roosevelts and he pulls out some mint sets that were stored in the Wayte Raymond holders. The story is that the dealer had sold these coins to a collector 20-25 years ago. The collector took them out of the orginal U.S. Mint holders and put them in the W.R. holders. He had recently purchsed the coins back as part of the old collectors estate.

The pics need some work, but you get idea.

The best part is that Mad Marty had been there the day before!image

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Nice, very nice coins. Good pick up. I have a set of Carver Washington's I bought around '95 or '96 in Wayte Raymond holders. Mine have never toned anything like that. But, they have been in a safe deposit box the whole time.

They didn't all have nice toning, some are very average or even ugly. I guess it just depends on the amount of sulfer in the cardboard, humidity, etc.
