  You could probably get the list of coins from an older book, but the pricing info would be outdated.

  I'm not overly concerned about pricing - I just want to knw what is out there.

  Then I would say an old book would be fine. The only problem you could have is if a country made 1973 coins after 1973. So, I don't think you should have a problem.

  Thankew - I have "collecting world coins" but I didn't realize it was less comprehensive than the standard catalog.

  I think I'd recommend the new Krause if you're intending to actually
  buy the coins. You're likely going to be put off by the prices you see
  otherwise. Be very careful with what you pay for this stuff since the
  catalog usually lists too low but in some cases it's way too high. Grade
  conservatively and remember if a coin isn't obviously unc then it won't
  sell as an unc. Modern buyers tend to be pretty picky about grading.
  
  If you're just pulling stuff out of circulation or from poundage then an
  older reference should be OK.

  Actually, for the size of the book, the new 1901-2000 catalog is a heck of a deal through Amazon at $34.65 including shipping.

  You can use numismaster.com - it can easily produce all coins for a specific date
  
  Goto Find My Coin, Select World in the drop down and put 1973 as a year
