The quick flip.

So, on 6.24 I sell this coin.
And, on 6.26 the buyer lists it using my images.
And, the coin hasn't even been shipped yet.

He's sort of paid. It's an eCheck that hasn't cleared yet, which is why the coin hasn't shipped.
I have no problem with these quick flips either, not even a problem with re-using my images. It happens frequently. But, it's quite a risk doing this before the coin is in hand.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Remember, it's modern crap

Ive had 3 transactions that ended with Non Payment from bozo's with E-checks.
I knew it would happen.
It is against eBay rules to use someone elses pictures without permission. Your auction looks more professional than his Russ, maybe that is why you did better!

Hey, Russ isn't going to hang the guy ... He's only humored that this guy is already listing what he hasn't receieved, yet !
It's your typical PRE-Sale

"save time and shipping expenses, too! buy my coin, and sell it back to me! Free Photos! Just send $10.00 to Russ...................."
Maybe you can get a slick law firm to issue an opinion that since it's a "like kind" transaction, it is not taxable...........?
I knew it would happen.
If I win I think Russ just holds onto the coin?
It's like deja vu all over again.

<< <i>Yeah Russ, you should bid on it >>
Nah, I don't want to mess with him. In fact, I feel a little bad for the guy. Unless a miracle happens he's going to lose money.

I wouldn't hang him either, but it is against eBay's policy. It is a bit deceptive because he doesn't have the coin yet and by posting the photos it leads his buyer to believe that he has the coin in-hand. I wouldn't do this only because it could get lost or damaged in shipment (I'd trust Russ but things happen in transit!). I am not a fan (or bidder) of pre-sales!
I'm all for people making money, and if someone bids more for an item than it is worth, it is their choice. As long as the seller describes the item accurately and provides the bidder with enough information to make their bid, it is a fair auction (IMO).
2 that come to mind (both darkside) are:
A cleaned EF shilling that I sold for $65 that HE sold using MY pictures as an UNC for $335
A nice VF/EF half crown that I sold for $300 that was flipped as an AU for $650 (his pictures)
I don't mind the flipping so much as I hate the blatant lying about the condition..... I try to be conservative and get a fairish price for the coin, and then it is flipped by a huckster who lies about the condition and gets an exhorbitant price for it...... I guess crime does pay (except I suppose it's not legally a crime......)
I did ask him how the coin looks in hand?
<< <i>Maybe you can buy it back for less than you sold it for and tell him you'll just keep it to save on shipping back and fourth

Yeah, he does seem to be getting a lot more action on this one then his other auctions.

Edited to add: This guy isn't going to resell the coin for less than he paid; he is going to place a shill bid for his purchase price and see if anyone takes it high enough for him to keep Russ's coin.

The feedback view defaults to only that received as a seller when checking it from an auction listing.

Lets us know how he responds, Mike...

Agreed. It will sell for at least 30% above what he paid. If his shill buys his own coin back, he'll return it to Russ for a refund.

If that's the plan, he's in for a rude awakening.

Note - aksarben is also the name of the horse track in Omaha.
I knew it would happen.

So compucheap sells a coin to aksarben2007, who in turn sells the coin to shillerdude007, with links to each auction clearly showing the coin's trail. How does aksarben2007 get away with trying to return a coin he's already sold to another buyer?
Anyway, if the coin in question was one I originally sold, my buyer would most definitely not have an opportunity to return it.
