ANA ballots not being mailed first class?

That is one rumor I heard. For those who have received them what postage was used?

Also heard they are being mailed "STD" which means the postal carrier can deliver it when they feel like getting around to it (I think).

I think mine had some presorted stamp on it, but I cannot recall.

I received mine 6/15 in Boulder, Colorado.

They were mailed presorted standard - to crib from "Direct Mail 101"

"Third Class mail, or what has been traditionally referred to as Bulk Business Mail (BBM), has been reclassified using the term Presorted Standard mail. The Postal Service offers huge postal discounts for Presorted Standard mail. In many cases, the rates are about one – half of First Class single piece rates. For Presorted Standard mail to be accepted at the BMEU, the Bulk Mail Entry Unit, the pieces of mail presented must be identical in size and weight. This includes letters, flats, postcards, tri-folds, magazines, and brochures. The minimum number of pieces required to qualify for a Presorted Standard mailing is 200 pieces. While there are no guaranteed delivery standards for Third Class or Presorted Standard mail, typical delivery time once the mail has been presented, verified, and postage paid at the BMEU is between 7 – 14 days. • They went out presorted standard with the Atlas Rockefeller Center stamp on them. According to the USPS web site:

Standard Mail may receive deferred handling. Service objectives for delivery are 2 to 9 days; however, delivery time is not guaranteed.

As mentioned in another thread, presorted standard also means the mail is NOT forwarded, but instead is discarded by the post office. This means any member who has a change of address will NOT receive a ballot! Great way to run an organization. Steveimage

And to think some people were reporting last year that they were receiving their platinum eagles and some other items from the Mint by Pre-Sorted Standard mail.

Let's not forget that you have to spring for 41 cents to mail in your ballot.

Another tactic to keep the vote count down.
