Kennedy on Teletrade Last Night

Some of the Kennedy Half Dollars with varieties are taking off! I was watching teletrade last night when this one went upto $160 plus juice.

I will admit that some of the price is because of the hype teletrade put with this listing: "Nearly Gem mint luster. Pleasing surfaces. This is one of two coins certified of this variety by PCGS. Both are at this grade, thus the finest certified." When in reality PCGS has graded some of these coins under the old PCGS coin number 86707 with one being a MS66.

That is an INSANE price for this COMMON variety. Realistically it's a $35 coin.
  • I agree that it is INSANE.

But I think it is more like a $6 coin than a $35 coin. Extremely common variety.

That has to be some kind of seller buy back.

But it takes two to bid, the under - bidder would have to have been at least the $150 mark, right?

Not sure how common the variety is today, how many escaped the melting pots of the 80's?

I would gladly pay $160 for one that graded MS66, if you have so many of them. Just send me a PMimage

Nope. The Teletrade proxy mechanism bids it up whether or not somebody else is bidding.

I predict that it will be listed again within the next 30 days.

Wasn't talking about a 66-just your run of the mill 63 or 64. And yes-they are still VERY common-even after the silver melt of 1979-1980. I once found 19 of then in a junk box of kennedys.
