on other proof SE...many thought that the RP would have been in a class of its own...but it does not look that way!

The 2006-W regular proof Silver Eagle is selling for several dollars more than the other 21st century proof dates, despite a very high mintage.
Anyone know why?

I noticed that before as well...only reason I can think of is that many people are getting at least 2 of these for their collections....1 is in the 20th Annv Sets and the other is as a single.
Very large mintage, imho, but if some people are doubling, then I think that may be part of the reason.
That, or there were a LOT of kids born in 2006 and getting a proof SAE of their YOB
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

The lowest mintages prior to the 2006 Reverse proof have fallen in price in grades 69. The 94 was around $325 and now has fallen to $275....quite a falll!
