I spent the weekend in Florida and saw this ad in the paper. I could pay TWICE what he pays and still make a profit.

I visited Belleair Coins in Largo and needless to say, I was not impressed. Too slick. They were showing a diamond ring to a customer and as they were presenting this ring to her, the sales staff was 'impressed beyond belief' with this diamond. Much too slick. Reminded me of a pawn shop.
I visited a nice gentleman in the Sears coin shop in Clearwater (forget his name) and also visited Dale's Coins in Dunedin (they were very nice also).

We are talking about Florida here. I'm not saying that everyone is an idiot there but, I have noticed that the intelligence elasticity in this state is fairly large.

I told him I was very interested.
He proceeds to show me the 1921 dollar, and I say to him "I hope you didn't pay too much for it, because it's a Morgan dollar!"

As for the paper ad, are you sure this isn't an archived paper from 20 years ago?

I think he knew. He was playing dumb like a fox. He was hoping to sell it at the higher Peace dollar price. I once had a dealer try to sell me a counterfeit Grant gold dollar commem. When I told him that I'm not interested in buying a counterfeit, he pretended (not too convincingly) to be surprised. I know this dealer knew it was a fake.

I posted this ad. St Petersburg Times, Sunday June 3, 2007, page 12A, right side of the page, 3/4 of the way down.

Interesting. The buy prices on the website are from 20-33% higher.
I also live in Florida so easy on the insults!
