Went Through a Bag of Silver DOllars
Pulled just 40 from a mixed bag of circulated silver dollars. This was a bag used as payment at face value for a $1,000 bill. I am not sure of everything I pulled out of it but a few are probably new finds. Some that I am pretty sure of are:
1880-O NEW FIND (clash)
1882-O VAM-7 -- O/O amazingly attributable AG specimen!
1887 NEW FIND (clash)
1888-O VAM-6 -- oval O
1889-O VAM-2 -- oval O
1892-O VAM-5 -- doubled ear (formerly was identified as VAM-7)
1899-O VAM-34B (R-6)
1900 VAM-24 -- DDR with quadrupled stars
1900-O VAM-22C2 -- counterfeit with the same obverse as the micro o
1921 NEW FIND (break)
1921 NEW FIND (break)
1921-D VAM-1F - ULDS
1921-D VAM-1H -- one of the best examples I have seen but have to try to get some gunk off of it
1921-D VAM-1M
1921-D VAM-1Q -- amazingly reverse toned Pompadeur T
1921-D VAM-1AD
1921-D JOH-5
1921-D grease filled mint mark
1921-D grease filled mint mark (different one)
1921-D NEW FIND (DDO)
Also found two amazing 1921 Morgans with overlapped reeding. I only know of the infrequent (wide) reeding VAMs. UNless these are identifiable, they are off to Leroy.
Haven't fully attributed the Peace dollars, but looks like I do have 1922 VAM-2AV, 1922-D VAM-1S, 1923-D VAM-1K, 1923-S VAM-1K, among 15 that I selected.
Here is the shot of that VAM-1Q. A little blurry but I was trying to capture the toning. It looks a lot nicer too.

My point is, this still happens. People get reminded of that old bag they have tucked-away somewhere and the finally decide to bring them out.
