you wn't believe this, but as the window was opening i just knew it was gonna be Berman!!!!!image

well, i don't doubt the grade of the linked medal, and i sure love the heck out of the OP pictured example. is that in your collection?? nice toned examples of these are tough to find, they usually just look dull gray.

...........................oh yeah, Longacre needs to get out more or else buy a copy of the HK book. maybe you can put it on the nightstand and let Consuela do a review for you!!!!!image

Why do you not think it's a 61? Are you seeing something that I'm not? The pictures suck and there's no way to see the surfaces of the coin. How can you compare yours to his? Even your XF Colorado doesn't show wear. The picture isn't close enough to tell.

I must be seeing something you are not. I agree the pics suck! Look at the C in Co. see the wear marks on the raised surfaces caused by the incuse , or stamping of the piece? Look at the Pedley example I posted, see how the medal is "raised" from the stamping? Now look at the XF example, no raised surfices , they have bin worn away. No matter how week the stamping there will always be a "raised" surface from the dislodged metal. IMHO and experience in tool and die. image
