I have this coin in my hand, the Reverse is very stunning with very nice luster. It is one of those coins that sparkles as it is being rotated...
This coin IMO is 100% NT found in a Mint Set...
It is a work of art, that agrueably took many many years to aquire such color, in that cardboard holder....

<< <i>Stunning for sure! Nicest color I have ever seen on a 53-D. Nice coin Pharmer and nice pics Lucy. >>
In the orginal thread where this coin 1st popped up, the shades of Pink were called into question...
The Pinks are indeed on this coin, and they look very natural to me, but what I discovered in imaging this one was some
trememdous shades of a wonderful Orange.... Luster is very strong making this one a sparkling jewel as it is being rotated and viewed..

There you go, spoiling the AT namecalling fun of some of the people....don't you know better?
This week, it is ALL about AT and slamming on people....not disproving the AT
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Come here honey, and I'll smack your behind!
And then we'll debate if the red color is AT or NT...

I doubt anyone might think it on the thresehold of 66 .
A prime example of a coin that 10 years ago would never have gotten higher then MS64 .
I believe Lucy : your photo skills are unmatched !

This picture looks natural to me, and if you endorse it , that's pretty strong.
I went back and looked at the original post, and the original pictures. I can see how some would question the look of the coin. Hopefully Pharmer doesn't mind a comment on his pics - maybe some different lighting, tone done the saturation, or something. Those pics aren't quite believable.
yes ; friendly advice indeed -
tone down the saturation as those pic's are just not quite believable .
if that is aT- and they did not slab it- then send it to Braddick- he can get anything slabbed in any color also.
But I still have reservations about that 54 Superlard bought from you a couple years back.
Rock-on Lucy!!
(wierd- I just put on Neil Youngs "I'm in Love with the Farmers Daughter" [the one with the champaign eyes] and then find these spectacular pix. I love Lucy- no doubt about it!)
and they're cold.

I'm guilty of that one but at least they were questions not statements. I'm still learning about lighting.
I guess I'll have to get some special lights and try to make my slabs look pink

<< <i>You showed up at the time of the purge, you're an alt. >>
That's faulty reasoning and incorrect. Do you think all coincidence is proof of causality?

<< <i>Pink is a naturally occurring color in mint sets, especially on the dimes, quarters and halves. I chuckle when I see roosie collectors drool over the pink and blue dimes (I like them too) and yet don't think this can happen to a halve. Here is an entire pink halve, slabbed and not photo enhanced in anyway.
Pink as different than gold.

Why not its an attractive coin with attractive photos. This coin was thought to be AT by many before Lucy imaged it. It can be very difficult to tell AT vs NT from images. This thread proves it. Why post at all. Go complain about a giveaway.
