EBAY 20c listing day

took advantage of this deal on a few coins. Didn't add any extras (like bold, etc), just 20c each. The listings must be buried in a mountain of 20c listings because almost no views. Even if my asking prices are insane I've always had a decent amount of lookers. How's yours going?

I listed 18, and I'm doing fine. Most of them are in the range of 30 views, although several are lower and one has topped 80. I seem to be getting roughly 1/10 as many watchers as views. I have bids on three items, only one of which I bought specifically to flip (the other two I bought for myself, then decided I didn't like as much as I thought I would). I especially like the bidding on this one -- nice to get a bidder like that when I'm selling, rather than when I'm trying to buy.

My listings tend to be for esoteric items, and I do pay the extra for a gallery picture (and often for a 2nd category as well). I don't know if those numbers are typical for other listings, but I'm happy with them.

As discussed elsewhere, it's probably "better" to list things with a 1c start, which makes the 20c listing day irrelevent. But that works best for mainstream items with a firm market. For weird items that might not get a lot of attention I need to protect myself, and the cheap listing days save me a lot of money. I listed these items for $12.65, versus about $50 if I'd listed them ona normal day.

I say that too, and listed a bunch of commem's, but in actuality, it doesnt same me any becuase I start everything at .99, it seems to work out much better. Once in a while something goes light, but gets made up on the next one.

About the only coins I start higher now, are consignment coins if the owner requests it.

  • I listed 20 items and I just checked how many watchersthere were 3 of the items have 6-6-4 watchers. and 2 of those 3 already have reasonable bids based on Ebay prices.

I put a dozen items on, both coins and graded comics (as well as a new HP Photo printer) but started them at realistic prices as opposed to my usual 99 cents. So far no bids and very few watchers or lookers, although I'm sure the better items will sell. They close tomorrow, so I will soon know, but at this point I would agree with you. Could be just the wrong time of month, or maybe Jupiter is not aligned with Mars - no wait, I think that's the age of Aquaris!

I don't normally like to list during "$.xx listing days" for the reason you stated.
I have done it a few times but I don't start low, rather at a price I will accept, and I upgrade to the gallery pic and sub title.
If you don't do that, way too much crap.

You guys that aren't getting any views/bids, what are you selling and give a link to your auction (in case I can get some cheap deals image )

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I listed one coin. It has 350 views and 5 watchers at the moment. It is a pricey key date, so I'm sure a lot of window shoppers...
  • I listed about 10 buy it now's and 3 have sold so far, about normal for me.
  • An attempt to add content and generate traffic......from what you guys are saying its not working.......

I didnt list any. Last year, I sold about $10,000 worth of coins on ebay. The year before that, I sold about $40,000 worth of coins on ebay. This year, I've sold a wooping $135 worth of coin (singular) on ebay. The fees just got too high for me.... and I didnt see the $.20 listing day until it was too late.
