I thought the 2007 W SAE's went on sale today but.....

I see that the date has been moved to sometime in May/June. I must have been a sleep!

I saw that too. It gives some credence to the 100,000 sellout(?) Strange goings-on at the Mint in a last minute change. The gold version is still up and running for today, so far.

  • It's possible that subscriptions were more than the mint had planned and ate up the available supply already minted.

With Sales comes disclosure of Sales Figures. When some buyers see high Sales Figures, they cancel buying plans.

By selling through subscription, no Sales Figures need to be released. The Mint could sell 2,000,000 units through subscription and no one would be the wiser - until too late.

    Smart move, Mint people !

Order up by subscription. These will be a fantastic buy. image
  • I just decided to buy four subscriptions of five. I figure I have nothing to loose.
  • Lightning seldom strikes twice. Second years (after a fantastic first year) are usually a looser. I'll sit this one out.
  • From the Mint Press Release:

“We will mint to demand, with no mintage limits, to give interested customers the best opportunity to add these beautiful coins to their collection."

That's just for the W Unc GOLD!!

You think W Unc Silver will be limited??

This is all you ever want to know about this 2007 issue!!

Ironically, if this continues to be their policy, future coins may end up with lower mintages than the ones which are already capped at low levels because the pump-and-dump flippers won't be ordering as many of them as they can.

do you have tracking numbers and hyper link???? if not then it's not on the way

I don't even see it on the page now. Just shows the oh six as not available but nothing about the zer0 seven.

Edit: Oh, on the product schedule. Never mind.

So er, they're going to (a) mint to demand; (b) carry over the sales period into 2008 no doubt; and (c) charge a hefty premium over melt.

Exactly how is a prospective buyer supposed to make a decision? One would be better off going to Vegas and taking one's chances there....image

Edited to add- I am referring to the Unc. AGE's that went on sale today. Although if they are doing the same for Silver (and gasp, Plats!) then the same applies.

With the US Mint is it ALWAYS a gamble to try to predict. I myself do not give much belief in the other post that said they were told the mintage will only be 100,000. (that number is probably for the 2007 10th anniversary platinum sets imageimage)

BUT... you never know. With all the other items they have to crank out.... they just may pull the plug early on the issue. Then you all with the subscriptions will be smiling all the way to the bank.

If they strike 100,000 plats I will eat my hat. I also think everybody needs to relax on the SAEs for 2007 as they will make those for a minute even if the first run is sold, and that would go for bullion, burnished and proof.

Tried to order yesterday.....got the "backorder" spiel....
  • The tracking page shows mine shipped the 24th, but no charges, and no tracking # either. Called CS and was told that 'shipped' actually means my order is confirmed (why dont they just say that), and that the ASE's wont be shipped out till LATE May, more than likely by the 2nd week of June. I was a never a subscriber prior to this order, but signed up on the 23rd for the ASE subscription, and apparently that happens with all new subscriptions, BUT we all know how the Mints CS people are...not the brightest bulbs in the box!

I subscribed for 25 ASEs on April 24th and it says the order was "shipped" (confirmed) on the 25th.
They need to publish a Mint to English translation dictionary (Mintbonics?), but it looks like they are still accepting orders.
