George Washington Dollars question

Hello, Yes I bought George Washington Dollars Rolls off e-bay from a person who opened error coins from the same case has good feedback .Schould have known better though . But Oh well .Here's my question I've found about a 100 of no edge and all from P rolls .The guy sent me rolls Fron D Is it even possible to get a smooth rim from a D Roll? Thanks Ron

Yes, they have found from the Denver mint.

I suggest taking pictures and sending them to Fred Weinberg and see what he says.
Or better yet see if you can send him a specimen

If they turn out real congratulations!

I am confused. Did you get about 100 smoothe edged Washingtons and you are not happy? Or am I reading your post wrong?

I think he is concerned that they may be fakes! It doesn't take much to remove the edge lettering!

If any of the core is visible they are fakes, post some edge pictures here if you can!

I think he is saying that he has found 100 P smoothies from a different deal, and this time he bought D's and was wondering if it was even possible to get a smoothie. That is how I read this.

So, the answer is YES it is possible but unlikely.

That's how I am reading his post as well. BTW - Coin World had a recent article explaining some of the diagnostics.

sounds like a case of the e-bay jitters.......................that place has always made me noivous
