Anybody Notice the 2007 Roosevelt Business Strike Dimes?

While most of my attention is on older stuff, I can appreciate moderns as well.

I received some 2007 dimes in change yesterday and could not help but notice how nice they were. These are regular business strike coins but they almost look like the old "proof" dimes. Really hammered strikes, booming luster, and no marks.

Not that they are worth anything, but they sure seem like they were made well, and I can still appreciate a well made coin even if it is brand new.

Of course if you see a coin it's probably not rare.

I know their not rare or valuable or the such. Just seem to be well made. BTW they are "D" MM's.
  • Actually I did notice that. They are almost proof-like.

It's actually gratifying to hear that they are making some nice stuff for circulation. Thanks for the heads up.

I got one in change yesterday and the incredible strike/condition of it caught my attention.
  • I remember having that same thought after getting one out of a vending machine. Something in the hair/ fields tricked my eye.
  • Dimes are generally nice. Could it be that because of the small size, the mint hasn't had to lower the relief and otherwise redesign the coin to the extent of the other denominations? They still look basically like the coinage of yesteryear.
  • So far, I have only received 2007-D dimes in change. They look fairly decent. Don't worry, that will change when the P mint ones show up.
  • I've also noticed how nice roosies have been. Not just this year, but for the past few years.

BTW the Denvers are high quality.......the Philly dimes are total trash in 2007. Same quality issues occured in 2006.

Maybe they should change the "P" mintmark to a "O".image

    Just for old times sake...

I think it sad how the Denver mint gets treated. Last year was their 100th anniversary and nothing from the mint to celebrate it...nada. At least DCARR made a well designed coin to celebrate it!
