Just an informal poll to assess the success rate of Presidential Reviews on overgraded/misattributed coins. Shag

I found it to be worth an extra 2 G's in my pocketimage

it was worth an extra two Gs because pcgs appears to have
created that extra value out of thin air.

    read the thread above.

bushmaster8 should have been sent back a non-fbl frankie with
a fat check too! but it did not work out that way. pcgs would have
    had to pay.

seems to be a clear case of a person running a company that
does not want to maintain a good image around this BBoard.

    that frankie is not fbl.

I've used it on 4 or 5 occasions for coins which I legitimately believed to be undergraded and received a fair hearing IMO.

Overall, 3 of the of coins did upgrade, and 2 did not. For those that didn't, I received an explanation which made sense to me.

I tried it once. The coin sat at PCGS for about a month, at which point I decided I wanted it back and asked for it to be returned to me. They said they would return the coin, but I would have to forfeit the fee ($20 or $25, or whatever it was). I will never use it again.

I have used it a few times. My success rate is about 5%. Unfortunately my professional colleagues and I do not always see eye-to-eye.

    Semi-successful.

Prez review put 2/5 where they belonged. 1 came back and I would probably agree with HRH. The other 2 that didn't upgrade I still disagree with but I do see what he scraped to find as the reason (imho, I have seen MUCH worse in a higher grade and these meet the technical, and visual, reasons to be given the higher grade but it helps them keep the pops down).

So, 40% on 1 group sent in...not sure if you call that successful or not. (these weren't overgraded/misattributed though).

I did send in, 2 years ago, a 1968-S PR69DCAM Kennedy that I bought on ebay that then spotted in the holder while I had it. Sent it in, took 2-3 months, and got the coin back raw with a $300 check. I was happy and replaced the coin.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Bottom line , It depends on WHO you are no matter what they say.
They dont have to answer to anyone except the buying public and the buying public's perception of them is changing rapidly

Now that's complete and total nonsense from an alt id.
