New Seated Half variety? Requesting opinions from the Seated Half experts......

....and there are a few on this forum.

I am currently working on listing a consignment from a California collection and I noticed something "different" about one of the consignor's coins, which is an 1875-S Seated Half. It appears that there's a misplaced "1" above the proper date on the coin (see image below). As many know, even those who do not specialize in this series, there are several MPD varieties (misplaced dates) on Seated Halves. The images don't quite do justice to what I am seeing, but you will get the idea. So....have any of you Seated Half collectors/researchers ever noticed a MPD on an 1875-S Seated Half? I have considered the likelihood of post-mint damage, but I cannot find enough evidence to support that possibility.
