Resubmission for Authenticity

We all know that it's not uncommon for a certified coin to be resubmitted and get an upgrade. But does it ever happen that a coin originally bodybagged as "not genuine" is resubmitted and then certified by one of the major TPGs? Is this a common occurance? Or, a coin is bodybagged as "not genuine" by PCGS, then slabbed by another TPG? (For this discussion I am not talking about coins sent to third tier services.) I would be worried if this was not extremely, extremly rare. What do you think? Does anyone have any ancedotes or observations to share?

Common? Probably not. Does it happen? I'm sure it does.

I'm sure it's happened, but I'm also sure it's a rather rare occurrence. And as long as they stand behind their guarantee, such a rare event doesn't concern me too much since I have confidence I'd be more or less made whole if I bought one of these slabbed fakes.

Interesting that there does not seem to be too much concern about this. I guess it is an extremely rare occurance.
