bit on the high side, I would bet the seller is looking for someone to make an offer so he can jump on it. Remember it doesn't cost much to keep a coin in an E-Bay store.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

I agree with that. I've made that seller offers and have been countered with much more reasonable prices. The key is to know the market and how much you're willing to pay when you make the offer.
Pricing SCDs is kind of like the Wild West right now IMO.
There seems to be a lot of "optimistic" pricing of so-called dollars these days. I don't know where the real market is but would like to see some true auction realizations before spending any serious money. I'd also like to offer some for sale to the market makers to see if there is really a two-way market operating and to see just what buy-sell margins are involved.
that seller is nototious for extremely high BIN's and i'd caution anyone about buying anything from them. consider that almost everything is listed in this fashion, the pictures are always juiced and whenever an item is listed raw, it's an almost certainty that it's problematic and was sent through NGC/NCS. this seller makes it very hard to buy, from them at least.
He's got "Make Offers" on all of them -- clearly he's aiming high, hoping to catch a few folk with more cash than brains, but perhaps if someone makes a reasonable offer he'll sell anyway.
Maybe closer toward the end of the month, when the rent is due...
only time will tell.....I will say that So Calls are really hot and this is just the begining of the climb.....its a great series and there are several great auctions coming in the next year with some fab collections..... we are one of the few dealers that are making a two way market...both buying and selling.....there are many dealers that have them but are only selling not buying.....I will also say that I sell quite a few on ebay and I always start them at 1 cent yet have a bin... a lot of guys wont put a bin because they just dont know the market price... a lot of guys also dont have faith in what they sell to start them a 1 cent.... we should have a bunch of raw ones up next week...we are down this week because of the severe flooding in our area
That seller is a moron. He puts such outrageous prices on everything hoping to get some sucker to buy. He does have the make an offer deal in which he will drop 30-50% off the price. But if I say a coin is $5000 and will take $2500, does that make the $2500 a good deal? NO! You gotta look at the coin and rarity.
This is also a seller that brings up a lot of "Unlisted SCD" crap. Of course they aren't listed! They aren't SCDs. Many don't meet the size requirements or they are trade tokens or some other exonumia.
I found his web site by googling the phone number found in coins-tokens-medals.
I don't know the seller and really don't care either way. I noticed he has a bit of ACG sh....um...stuff in some of the listings. I usually just ignore an auction if the price is too high or if they are selling 3rd world slabs at full retail.

I recommend looking at lots of realized auction prices before jumping for a BIN that you feel might be high for you.

The prices seemed high to me, but then again I've not won any SCDs at auction for some time.

Use extreme caution when buying from him!
