Image analasys on a toned coin. Whatcha think?

Here are three different images of the same coin. It is one of the most incredibly eye-appealing coins I have ever laid eyes on with amazing semi-proof "Pop" luster, gorgeous emerald greens, cranberry reds, and beautiful textile "pimples". It never ceases to amaze me how much the differences can be in the portrayal of a given coin based on images. These are all the same coin...

The first image appears quite flat, the second image has been manipulated so much as to make it nearly laughable and the third image makes me believe this is what the coin looks like in-hand.

I can't disagree with Tom. The second image has been mutilated with Photoshop; using the third image as one that shows the color transitions best, you can easily tell that the sliders have been moved an incredible amount in the second picture as all of the transitions have been wiped away.

Last pic is the best because I'm pretty sure that's how the coin looks in hand.

I too agree with the consensus so far here. It amazes me that sellers will opt to market such a coin with an image like #2 though.

I will say since I own the coin, that when holding it under halogen lighting and rotating it, image #2 is pretty close.

However, image #3 does nail it, generally speaking. -Oh by the way,

As if I dont know...

First one isnt too bad, but flat. But nothing even compares to the third.

2nd image is juiced to a point where the coin looks completely fake and not like what it would look like in hand. Its a shame how easily this can be done. But that is one GORGEOUS coin!

Thanks for sharing. That is a beautiful coin.

I've always hated those juiced up scans. I've always wondered what the people who spent $1000's of dollars on a neon Morgan thought when they opened the package and saw that it wasn't plugged in any more.
