Don't THink I'll Bid on These 1794 & 1795 Coins

Auction Link.

Take a look at the feedback. 11, all from low feedback buyers, all private auctions. 24 hour auction, low open, no reserve, and high dollar coins. What are the odds this is legitimate? I put it at about 1%.

Looks reasonably polished until you get to the RESEND section of the listing then it looks like a total hack job! image

The sellers feedback is all from foreign buyers. The auction ends in the middle of the night. Makes one wonder if the seller is really not in the states.

  • The name "cowboy" is intended to grant some level of comfort to the buyer that he is in the US. If he is from Long Beach it must be a really long beach extending across the Pacific. This tells me all I need to know >> "If the item is coin add one need pay more $3.00"image
Witty sig line currently under construction. Thank you for your patience.

Of course, all dealers carry a large selection of 1794 dollars, "in stock" at the time.

They start a $100,000 coin at $9.99 with no reserve and a $9.99 coin at $9.99. Interesting to watch. I would think that a person bidding on such a coin (a 1794 silver dollar i.e.) may want to pick it up in person.
