Kennedy expert opinions needed on my 1967 SMS

I cherried this 1967 SMS Kennedy out of an SMS set last weekend. Paid about $10.00 for the set. Is there a chance it could go DCAM? I know my pics are bad. The thing has deep liquid mirrors and looks like a proof. Any marks in the fierld are reflections. The reverse is just as nice as the onverse. The frost is great too, but is it great enough for a DCAM? I think it will grade at least MS67CAM. Any opinions?

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Unless the photo is masking frost on the date and motto, it will be tough to get a DCAM IMO based on the obverse. Remember that the Reverse plays as big a part in determining CAM/DCAM as the obverse.

Regardless though, it is a very nice coin!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

No. The obverse looks cameo, and the reverse looks transparent.

As I said, the reverse looks just as nice as the obverse. That is a shadow over the date. There is absolutely no breaks in the forst on any of the devices.

I'm with Russ on this. It looks CAM but DCAM seems unlikely based on the photo.

  • As tough as I hear PCGS is grading, I would even question a CAM designation. Comparing that to LeeG's coins. I might just hold off before sending mine in.

I have a 1967 SMS MS67CAM. I just got it back from PCGS last week. The coin pictured blows my PCGS MS67CAM out of the water. My pic is not a good example considering I suck at photos. I have never seen mirrors on a SMS like this. The frost is a little better on the one pictured than my 67CAM, but with the mirrors on this thing it makes the frost look even better. Maybe I will try to get some better photos.

Grabba, your coins you posted last week looked real nice. What are you waiting on, send those babies in!!

I still have a few coins I am waiting on. I need to inspect them first and I want to make one submission.

    Thanks.

Any way you could take a better picture of your coin with a little better lighting. Just seems kind of dark and it seems to be taking away from the appearance of it. Just my opinion though. Still it is a very nice coin either way.

The mirror(s) on this one appear(s) to be superb.

    Good luck.
