  It looks to be a "fine" to me too. Hard to see the amount of marks on the scans but if you got it for a VG price you are not going to be hurt. As long as you enjoy the coin it doesn't matter the grade or price IMO...

  Numismaster says Ho mint coins are from Hermosillo, I couldn't make up stuff that good.

  I don't think there are very well documented mintages for the Ho mint (Hermosillo) or for that matter any mintage from any of the mints of that period. To me they are neither more difficult nor more common to any of the others with the exception of Cn (Culiacan) or Ch (Chihuahua). I am sure there are some certified specialist who will tell you for sure, I only dabble in Mexican coinage and have not learned all that I should before trying to help on information regarding the coinage... Ask me about a German Empire coin and availability and I will tell you far more than you want to know

  I agree, a Fine, perhaps a Fine-15 with the reverse going slightly higher.
  
  I'm not experienced enough in this series to know the strike, etc., but it's a nice-looking world coin, 136 years old, looks very original from the image with high silver content and in this day and age (unless you're slab crazy) there's nothing wrong with that.
  
  Now if you're a collector of this series you'll want better but at $6 as a general collector you're doing just fine.

  I don't know what series I'm collecting, I just got into this darkside stuff and I'm just kind of "buy" crazy right now. I had been looking for a nice scale piece and happened to come across this one. I also hope to find a 8 reales/1 peso.
