I'm not sure, however to be on the safe side you should have them increase substantially all of the coins in my "World Series" portfolio.

I find it hard to believe you, or someone else at PCGS, dont already have this information. Is this a trick question?

Does anyone have the 2008 Redbook? They have put that information in there the last few years, and you could look up coins that have sold since the printing of that book to make it more accurate.

The headline is a bit deceiving, Ron. The 10 most valuable US coins are not the same as the 10 highest priced US coins sold at auction.

My suggestion is to contact HNAI, Stack's, Goldbergs, Superior, and Bowers and Merena, get their lists, and colate them.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Ah, shoot, more homework? I wanted to veg today. This reminds me of the guy last week who said he was going to do a coin presentation and wanted us to give him all the info.

Oooh! Fun! First, let's define US Coin cuz there's a few colonial and fantasy pieces smack dab in the middle of the list.

    Shooting straight from memory:

    1933 double eagle [Stacks]
    Childs 1804 dollar [B&M]
Punch on breast Brasher doubloon [Heritage]
Punch on wing Brasher doubloon [Heritage]
    Morse 1927-D double eagle [Heritage]
    Eliasberg 1913 nickel [Superior]
    Ultra High Relief [Heritage]
    Dexter 1804 dollar [Stacks]
    Eliasberg 1804 dollar [B&M]
    Duckor 1920-S eagle [Heritage]

    How close was I????

Punch on wing Brasher doubloon [Heritage]

    Eliasberg 1913 nickel [Superior]
    Ultra High Relief [Heritage]
    Dexter 1804 dollar [Stacks]

  • Does anyone have the 2008 Redbook

LOL, they still list the 2006 W Unc Plats as having a flying eagle on the reverse like the regular business units.

That book, IMHO is only good for starting camp fires.

It is an antithesis in the INTERNET AGE, out of date and months, if not years behind the real market pricing the day it gets printed.

When the publisher of this book talks about it as a collectors item on its' own, that gives you some insight on what value it really has as a guide to a price of a coin, let alone the top 10 coins!
